If all of us understand what #intersectionality means then the world will have less identity wars. Because people will realise they’re intersectionally unique and stop trying to find themselves in a cloned unidimensional single identity characteristic like nationality or religion or race etc. It’s not like what Lennon said: imagine there’s no this or that. It’s imagine you’re a combination of this and that which makes you unique belonging to yourself only and connecting with other unique souls.
Reading an instance's ruleset. No homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, racism, sexism, etc etc. It goes on for a bit, but #Ableism doesn't make the list.
"Well you can't list EVERY form of discrimination! There are so many!"
Yeah, see, #Disabled people have been hearing for over a century that we're just not as important as others. We should wait our turn.
You want to be an ally to disabled people? CALL OUT ABLEISM. Actively, intentionally, every time.
The churchyard of St Oswald in Lee. This is the presumed site of King Oswald’s victory over Cadwallon of Gwynedd at the Battle of Heavenfield in 633. The little church marks the spot where Oswald is believed to have raised his cross & prayed before the battle.

It's hard to say what the intention of Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram was it their inception.
But to me, they have always felt like places where there's a lot of pressure to prove yourself -- an exhausting, eternal highlight real.
We are people, not bite-sized entertainment on command, and I resent being productized. No more.
I'm here because I want to support others, be supported, and share real life. That includes the mundane, because that's most of life, and there's beauty in it.
The #Fediverse Could Be Awesome (if we don’t screw it up)

Something that really frustrates me about social media and our society is the tendency for algorithms (and people) to categorize people into niches. Which sucks for a lot of reasons.
I have so many niches. Maybe it's the ADHD, maybe it's just me, but I have so many interests across so many subjects.
I want to know all the things.
I want to make all the things.
Polymaths, unite!
Govt is pushing us into yet more damaging austerity, in the name of political ideology rather than economic necessity. Making "difficult decisions" as Chancellor said time and time again in #AutumnStatement is just code for hitting the poorest people hardest.

Certain Fediverse users get super upset and ornery over the notion of Fediblocks.
Yet the only reason they're around is to give everyone else a bad time
So it seems that by giving them Fediblocks, we're giving them an altogether awful time by denying their bad times—and this makes them rage all the more.
It's the trolls trolling themselves into oblivion.
When Nigel Farage went after the RNLI, donations to the lifeboat service rocketed.
This Tory government is about to find out that Brits feel just as strongly about our NHS.

This morning, this House Finch was busily engaged in being as red as possible while devouring berries almost as bright as it was.
