Stochastic terrorism is "the public demonization of a person or group resulting in the incitement of a violent act, which is statistically probable but whose specifics cannot be predicted." Donald Trump has been using social media to blast prosecutors, judges, and witnesses, and his followers have answered with calls for violence. If the ex-president is a stochastic terrorist, what should we do in response? https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/donald-trump-stochastic-terrorist-threats
@georgetakei The best answer to bad speech is more good speech.

What's the big deal? It's only a speech.

The best answer to bad speech is *not* more good speech. The best speeches ever made against what these men said didn't stop the killing of millions that heir own speeches caused. Fascism cannot be spoken away. Is that not self-evident?
@LevZadov @georgetakei Of course it can. That's why a historic number of people came out and voted for Joe Biden to prevent Trump from carrying on his plainly tyrannical path. It's what convinced the Allies to lay down their lives to put your example away. It's what created the documents that underlie, to this day, the very legal rights that help keep power in the hands of the people.
The idea you're invoking; that speech cannot solve a problem just because speech did not solve that problem once before; is fallacious. There are thousands of historical examples of speech averting mass tragedy.
It wasn't Chamberlain's blather at Munich words that stopped Hitler. It was bullets and bombs.
As for Biden, an endless succession of lesser evils will never create a just, equitable, and peaceful future.

@LevZadov What's your point? Would you prefer he lost?
@LouisIngenthron
(1.) We're talking about Trump, aren't we? Correct me if that's wrong.
(2.) The so-called "real world" used to believe in the divine right of kings. Things change.
(3.) True justice is human equality. If you'd prefer that pigs fly rather than justice be done though the heavens fall, you and I have nothing further to discuss.
