Remember: political polls only measure the opinions of people too dumb to reject calls from unknown numbers.

@jonobie I never really did understand why people did that in the first place...

Almost a year since one of the most casually cruel layoffs in tech happened at Twitter and those laid off have yet to receive their severance.

If you stole this much from a corporation you would be in jail. But steal this much from workers and you get the comfortably sit at home while tweeting white supremacist memes without a care in the world.

BBC: "Everyone got duped by Sam Bankman-Fried's big gamble"

No, lots of us called crypto out from the very start. I was reading accurate critiques of bitcoin in 2012.

Journalists and financiers and politicians got duped or didn't care about the truth when there was money to be made.

Now you're trying to pretend nobody warned you? Get fucked.

The Matrix 2023: Wow this guy had his own cube at work

The GOP has introduced a bill to EXPEL Palestinians from the United States. I cannot read such things without remembering what happened to my own family after Pearl Harbor. After we and 120,000 other Japanese Americans were incarcerated in prison camps for years, without charge or trial, my own mother was very nearly expelled to Japan because of racial prejudice and hatred. Only the brave actions of a civil rights attorney saved her from being sent away. #NeverAgain

In his new book #MarkMeadows repeated the #Trump #lies about the 2020 election. Then he testified under oath that the election was not stolen. Now the publisher (#AllSeasonsPress) is suing him for millions in lost profits and damage to its reputation.

PS: This is a story about #publishing #ethics. The pub knew or should have known that Meadows lied in the book, and it planned to profit from those lies. Now it's saying it only wanted to publish sincere lies.

You either die a hero, or you live long enough to rebrand with a sans serif logo

@marcelias If that's true, then why did none of us ever hear of him before he became speaker?

@Daojoan You can also do like I did and turn your profile into a graveyard monument to leaving Twitter. (see my same handle over there for inspiration)

@Daojoan We've always just been apes playing at civilization 🤷‍♂️

Any new tool we invent will inevitably end up being used to satisfy our poo-flinging desires.

I'm having a love/hate relationship with Mars First Logistics. It's a game where you custom-build rovers on Mars to carry strangely-shaped objects from one location to another.

It's bizarrely difficult and casual at the same time. You really have to think about your builds (a la KSP), but there are no time limits and you can always reset, so the stakes for failure are very low.

It's a game that alternates between making me feel very dumb and very smart.

Check it out on Steam. It's on sale.

Hilariously, Apple tried to claim with a straight face to the EU, that it offers not one, but three distinct web browsers all coincidentally named Safari.

Lucky for us the team at the EC dismissed this ludicrous gambit and painstakingly ripped Apple's argument to shreds. It is baffling to us why Apple's legal team is willing to sacrifice their credibility on something that has such a low chance of success.

Couldn't this be rewritten as "IDF admits it committed war crimes"?

@ImperfectIdea @tripu @fidel @gasull Is that still true when you're logged out of YouTube and using an updated uBlockOrigin?

#USPOL

Incredibly telling that being accused of rape and openly describing sexual harassment isn't a scandal in world, but the idea that someone might wear lifts in his shoes is a giant scandal.

I am so fucking tired of hearing about how an actual war/genocide on the other side of the planet is affecting the feelings of university students in America.

Pro tip: If you stir coconut oil into your kale, it makes it easier to scrape it into the bin.
