@joelmartinez Ask it to explain quantum physics to you like you're five, and to use fun references. 😀

@lucifargundam With links, though, you can check the domain they go to is trusted before following them.

It's been a while since I scanned a QR code, but they just go, don't they? That's what bothers me. I want to see the destination before travelling.

I'm scared of scanning QR codes like my parents are scared of clicking links in emails.

Your SSID should always be a joke that your neighbors don't get until they see it for the fiftieth time.

@freemo Oh, you think it may be a logic issue? I just figured a background service had gone down or something.

I tried to sign up for the QOTO GitLab (that's where you meant for me to file a bug, right?) but I never got my confirmation email, so I can't complete sign-up.

Hey @freemo, seems like there might be an issue with the OCR tool for autogen image alt text. It gets stuck at "Preparing OCR".

@robertpi Probably to prevent that nonsense where the AI tricked the Google(?) engineer into thinking it was alive from happening again.

@robertpi @suricrasia Agreed. It seems to be an artificial limit to prevent copyright infringement claims. It also plays dumb about movies and music.

@Maunto Yeah, I started working with it in only 2D too. This was built in the 4.0 beta. So far, I'm really impressed. Everything has been relatively simple (once you figure out Godot's names for things).
In particular, the functionality for mesh instancing the trees was crazy easy to use.
Also, the terrain in the above picture uses a custom shader built in Godot's "Visual Shader" designer (comparable to Unity's "ShaderGraph").

@pistachios Purportedly, a western. But it'll probably never come to fruition (scoped way too big for a single developer), so it's really more of a tech demo to see how far I can push Godot.

@joelmartinez I think, much like blockchain, it's going to be an incredible tool for very few narrow applications, but otherwise just a toy for enthusiasts.
I have no doubt that these shallow pattern-matching AIs are going to be regarded as novelties by history. Or, at best, mere stepping-stones.

We thought achieving true AI would be difficult because human intelligence is more complex and varied than anything else we know.

And, it turns out that's still mostly true.

But what we didn't realize back then is that we're so predictable and habit-forming that we can be easily imitated by much dumber algorithms.

I'm not entirely sure I want to unpack that.

@joelmartinez I've got a strong hunch that this is it running into an artificial barrier put into place to prevent copyright claims. It's probably forced to feign ignorance about any material that's heavily DMCA'd online.

RT @goodside
POV: You're a Senior Data Engineer at Twitter. Elon asks what you've done this week. You've done nothing.

Frantically, you open ChatGPT.

@aramsinn Given how those tools work, this actually a great sign about how much academic work is available on the internet for students (and AIs) to access!
