Finally installed a proper flagpole on the front of my house with a pride flag.
I was concerned about doing this in the past, because my neighborhood had *a lot* of Trump flags a few years back, but I figured that I, a well-armed cis white male homeowner, have enough security that I can afford to make myself a bit of a target to show solidarity for the kids in the neighborhood.

I tried mounting the flag on the back of my house a week ago (that faces a public park; it wouldn't have been hidden), but the very same day, a storm took it down. Guess I should have used real mounting hardware, huh? (Or just pissed off God less? lol). I used proper 3" wood screws on this one, so let's see what happens when the next squall comes blowing by.

That's some aggressive stupidity.

Heard a small explosion nearby. Probably a transformer blew after the recent storm. My power is still on, thankfully, but I do see power company cherry-pickers driving by.

Now, can we stop talking about it?

When I moved to #Florida ten years ago, I got used to regular evening #storms in the #summer pretty quick.

But it definitely seems like, lately, they're much more intense. They used to be wet, but tame. Now, they regularly have gusts strong enough to take down my awning/flagpole and a chunk of the wood siding it was attached to.

If this is any indication of what kind of a fall we'll have, I'm really not looking forward to hurricane season.

Then again, I'm a Floridian, so "not looking forward to #hurricane season" just means I'll buy a little more bottled water and call it a day.

@rlux Agreed. Apathy is fine, but when someone crosses the line and openly wishes for the death of other human beings, they've taken a turn down a very dark path, whether they realize it yet or (more likely) not.

I can't believe this is even a question. This is *clearly* an anti-competitive merger. It should be blocked without a second question.
