@ithoughtisawa2 Isn't 1Password in the list of "recent data breach scandals"?
@braindouche Ouch, yeah that does sound bad. If the resources you need are spread across the world, pagination can get tricky.
@braindouche As a full-stack developer myself.... that is a bit suspicious. Obviously, I don't know your code base, but those should both be relatively simple tasks...
@susanbeebe "plan to kill twitter" makes it sound like he's doing something intentionally and competently.
@w7voa What, North Korea's credit rating wasn't high enough?
@freemo I think your example for "fault" just caused several hundred insurance adjusters to roll over in their graves, lol, and with a more accurate example, your argument wouldn't hold up so well.
Fault and guilt are intrinsically linked. You can be at fault without being guilty, sure, but you can't be guilty without being at fault.
@freemo To be clear, I agree it can be taken too far. When laying blame becomes an obsession or a culture, it's a problem.
But, as with almost everything, it's good in moderation.
@freemo Yeah, but first you need to establish guilt, or fault, beyond a reasonable doubt. We can't Minority Report the situation.
@freemo Hard disagree. Humans need to be held accountable for their actions and justice is how we do that.
@freemo Fault seems pretty relevant, and necessary, to enacting justice.
And we tend to most seek someone to blame... when we face a perceived injustice.
@freemo When the chart is "who would primary voters pick", then yes, voters overwhelmingly picking looney tunes means the party has gone looney tunes.
I wouldn't say that there aren't *any* sane voters left, because absolutes are never true, but I feel pretty safe in saying there are a lot fewer still sticking around then there used to be.
@realcaseyrollins No, when I was growing up, the "right" was about keeping the government out of people's lives and fiscal responsibility, not rejecting reality to own libs. There's definitely been a shift.
@freemo Because Ramaswamy is #2 and he's a lunatic who's clearly following Trump's grift, but is much smarter than Trump. And Nikki Haley is, while better than the first two, still pretty damn crazy. And finally, you've got DeSantis, who has doubled-down on divisive culture war bullshit.
Christie and Pence are the only two that actually seem to want to govern out of the lot and they're at the bottom.
(Scott, admittedly, I know very little about.)
In order to build better, you have to have an idea of how to build things in the first place. This usually involves being experienced in the way things are normally done, because that way is the result of decades of mistakes and corrections.
But, in the world of #crypto, it doesn't work that way. It's like a young child telling his parents they don't know anything. He knows what the world needs. And that's a new bank made out of cushions from the sofa.
@ericgoldman Yeah, I buy that. It's the same effect as someone trying to start a business solicitation with "what's up bro". Time and place.
Discussion of violence
@tripu I don't think most wannabe serial killers are jerking off to Rambo, no.
As for the second bit... most of those examples you described, especially GTA, are cartoonish. Cartoonish violence is especially given a pass because it's roughly equated to child's play. And maybe that's part of the answer to your core question... because we allow children to play with violence (i.e. wrestling, dodgeball, etc).
