A proper southern diner needs a few things to be successful, but none are more important than having that one killer waitress who works her ass off and remembers all the regulars' names. Tip her well.

@w7voa Always interesting how local crime becomes national news when it fits a political narrative 🙄

Having a blue checkmark next to your name on Mastodon is like men's vestigal nipples. They don't really do anything except remind you of the unevolved place from which you came.

"'Spring lamb' is defined by the USDA as having been slaughtered between March and October."

Because nothing in government is ever allowed to actually make sense.

The advertising industry is all the proof anyone needs that you don't have to be good at your job to be successful.

Can't even see through my tears right now.

Damn you, onions! Why must you be so painful and so delicious?!?

@mishi I was on the ground in Florida protesting the police myself. And maybe I'm not as magnanimous as you, but I can't forgive your ignorant assumptions. Talking to people that way only serves to harm the cause you claim to support. So take your condescension and shove it.

@QueerInTheCountry Because they are. The word "protest" doesn't have an inherent positive connotation. Assholes can protest equality just as a toddler can protest eating vegetables.

Streaming platform executives:
“I don’t think enough people are pirating. Let’s see what we can do about that.”

It requires a 2/3 majority vote to expel a member of the U.S. Senate — if Menendez refuses to resign, Sen. Schumer should move for his immediate expulsion. The message needs to be crystal clear: Democrats don’t tolerate corruption.

@kegill Discussion is a whole different animal from integration. We should absolutely be discussing them; on that we agree.

@kegill Depends on the application. I'd really like to see the tech have a little more time to mature before integrating it too heavily into our lives.

I really don't understand the appeal of , but that goes double in the context of . Give me a clear, strongly-typed compiler error over a JIT mumbo jumbo error any day.

Although, I guess that means my issue is less with Lua and more with using scripting languages in general for GameDev. It just feels dirty, and unsafe, and takes twice as long to debug.
