I will never understand this attitude.

If I post about a problem, and you know how to easily solve it... *Please* give me that advice.

Why some people prefer to live in misery and pity instead of learning and improving their lives baffles me.

@andrewvandam @cqz As I understand it, Alexa doesn't run entirely on a generative language model like ChatGPT.... it runs on "custom skill" plugins written by Amazon vendors and affiliates... So, this may not be a fluke of technology, but rather a deliberate addition by somebody.

@Judeet98@mstdn.social Okay, whatever, then enjoy buying your Trump steaks and Zyklon B. :eyeroll:

@dmarti I just hope they set their definitions properly... For example, if they just raise fuel prices for "private aviation", then that would potentially include things like student pilots too, which would make it more expensive to become a pilot and limit that profession to people who can afford it.

@Judeet98@mstdn.social Big difference between a leader of a country and an owner of a company. Trump didn't own the country while he was president, whether he thought he did or not.

Tried it. The users insisted on plugging the computer back in the moment I left the room.

If I was an IT person I would simply turn off the stuff that let you hack computer

@ZachWeinersmith No way. You'd die if you only ate alcohol and cheese. Need to add some pickles and yogurt.

@JeremyMallin I don't think that's entirely true. According to the international olive oil council, "black olives" are fully-ripe olives. It could be that the brining process artificially ripens them, but it doesn't appear to be the direct reason for the blackening.

Oh no! The humanity!

But seriously, it's crazy that our federal mail system is this cheap. It may not be perfect, but it's one area of our government that seems to work very well most of the time, and we should recognize that.

#USPS seeks to hike the price of first-class mail stamps to 68 centss, effective Jan. 21st. https://about.usps.com/newsroom/national-releases/2023/...

Also, apparently the House Minority Leader refuses to take emails from anyone who doesn't live in his district. What a dick.

Wait, an elected representative wrote an opinion piece about our legislative future for a for-profit newspaper and now if I want to know what he's doing with my government, I have to pay for the privilege? That ain't right.

@ThinkingSapien I always eat the skin. It's got to be inside-down, so you get that super tart flavor.

@ThinkingSapien The true test of a kiwi aficionado: Do you eat the skin, or just the fruit?

25 years ago today (10/6), Matthew Shepard was beaten and left for dead — tied to a fence in Wyoming. The only part of his face not covered in blood was two white lines running down his cheeks from where his tears ran dry. His death ignited a fight for equality. Never forget. Rest in Power Matthew. #RememberingMatthew #ShepardLegacy #TearsOfInjustice #EndHateCrimes

“America should be having a robust, life-or-death conversation—when TV’s cable talkfest signs on at 6 a.m. until the last words at midnight, on the floors of the House and Senate, in newspaper editorial boards and down at the barber shop and in Starbucks—about whether we…want to end this country’s 247-year uneven experiment in democracy…whether one man should have the power to override elections, jail his enemies, free his friends, eviscerate federal agencies.” Will Bunch inquirer.com/opinion/red-caesa

@jalefkowit Or just take the capitalist route and boycott.

Only patronize outlets with sustainable models that don't make your eyes bleed with endless popup ads.

didn't need to kill all those to try to capture footage of them shuffling mindlessly off a cliff.

They could have just filmed modern instead.

@BalooUriza Most places can't even get bridges repaired, but you want entire cities to be redeveloped? Lol.

A friend of mine offered to cut down my red maple tree when it died but he saved a piece of the trunk and had this bowl made for me. He knew that I was really sad about losing the tree because I planted it myself 32 years ago. ❤️
