@robertnorlyn @ahltorp @Richard_Littler "Scripted Content Generators" sounds like another name for video games. Are those not art?

An algorithm is ultimately nothing more than a tool, created by one human and used by another.

CEOs are hugely expensive. Why not automate them?
If a single role is as expensive as thousands of workers, it is surely the prime candidate for robot-induced redundancy.

Y'know, at first I felt contempt for those who continued to feed Musk's content machine, but nowadays, I just feel pity. How sad would it be to have so little self control that you feel unable to leave his sad little kingdom?

@MJ This is the kind of law that responsible gun owners can get behind too. It's a good bridge for a coalition to smarter gun laws.

@AGTMADCAT @urlyman @BrentToderian I have, and that would be nice, but it still wouldn't eliminate the necessity of a car.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if all the people who want war could get it without hurting innocents? Then they would just naturally select themselves out of the population.

@EricFielding Sure, and if it's difficult to get to a human, then it qualifies for what I was bitching about above.

But if you can press zero to skip it and get to a human, then they're still in the clear, in my opinion, because sometimes I do just want their hours and I really don't need to talk to a human for that.

This... actually sounds brilliant. Require big companies, by law, to be transparent about their impacts on the environment.

Then consumers can use that to make informed decisions about where we want to shop.

Gaza’s shock attack has terrified Israelis. It should also unveil the context
The dread Israelis are feeling after today's assault, myself included, has been the daily experience of millions of Palestinians for far too long.

@justin_drawing @crowgirl The fact that they're suing for severance would seem to imply that they were not contract workers. It sounds like the contract mentioned in the article was between their employer and bioware.

@olligobber @ZachWeinersmith Yeah, but we had the same problem before that with companies outsourcing the subtitling to countries where that language isn't even spoken, so....

@DLink You sure? That would mean they went out and took millions of photographs of thousands of plants around the entire world just to train their model on for a free phone app. I find that... implausible.

Do you ever miss a television show? You know the serials that play out in episode after wonderful episode?

Which ones do you miss the most?

@mentallyalex There are a lot of potentially good answers to this question, but the definitive right answer is "Firefly" 😋
