@JoshuaHolland Okay, that definitely makes more sense, but it still sounds like a longshot with constitutional concerns.
@JoshuaHolland Not from what I've read. It doesn't explain why they're suing instead of arresting. And much of sounds like textbook prior restraint:
@JoshuaHolland I don't get it. Why are they suing the organization? If they're actually breaking the law and committing violence, arrest them. This smells like it'll get thrown out on 1A grounds.
@brody Have they fixed the game at all? It was such a broken unfinished mess at launch that I'm extremely skeptical of any future announcements...
@carnage4life And because the network effect also applies to their server costs... There's a good chance they're about to see their bills skyrocket.
That... that's technically a hate crime, isn't it?
@baldur Right, but I think the reason people make these arguments is because, so often, we think things are getting worse, when they're really not; the rose-tinted glasses effect.
The ur-example is "kids today are lazier than they were in my generation" or "people just don't want to work these days." Every older person feels those things are true in their bones, but it's a trope as old as time.
@davoloid I'd like to watch those series, but they're just getting way too convoluted and spread out. Right now there's three active series and three *more* spin-offs coming. Some are almost over, others are still running... Where does one even start?
Might just wait until they run out of material and get cancelled and then just binge them in order.
You know that feeling in (older) Bethesda games where you finish the intro and step out into the massive beautiful world full of possibilities and you just feel a sense of magical wonder?
If you want that feeling in real life, get cataract surgery. Stepping out my front door this morning was quite a breathtaking experience.
Since I only have one eye done at this point, I'm able to easily compare the two and I made this mock-up, for those who have never experienced it:
There are many modern tech inventions released these days that make me wonder "why didn't I think of that?"
This is not one of them.
@carnage4life 3 makes sense, actually. They switched from the HBO Max app to the Max app, so everyone who already used the service had to download it again.

It's not just time zones and leap seconds. SI seconds on Earth are slower because of relativity, so there are time standards for space stuff (TCB, TGC) that use faster SI seconds than UTC/Unix time. T2 - T1 = [God doesn't know and the Devil isn't telling.]

@axios Can't even post a link to your own website without routing it through Elon's servers?
