The Dem party leadership is deeply dysfunctional & in many ways bears some responsibility for the situation we are in. To defeat the loonies & rising authoritarianism change is needed.
Many rural areas were Dem just a decade or two and can be again, but the Dems refuse to champion the policies & candidates to make that happen

I do feel like an increasing number of people are finally getting it. And the alternative doesn't necessarily have to answer to the name socialism, although it might have "social" in its name.
