@ParkinJim it's not even a question for me given the risk that comes with being infected.
Did we ever encourage people to get infected with HIV or the measles? Encouraging chicken pox parties, in retrospect, only exposed children to a virus that exhibits latency. It's all so wrong.
Thanks again for all the lovely comments posted on my recent images.
Today's is one of my favourites from over a decade ago, at a site run by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, and is of a common kingfisher.
We watched this male fishing in the small lake for over an hour. Mostly he preferred diving from posts at the water's edge, but when he flew up into this willow tree, I made sure I got the shot.

"Yes, I’m looking at you Fucker Carlson, and Cruella de Ingraham, and Alex Jones, and Sean Hannity. I’m talking about selfish, sadistic, cretins who most likely don’t even have any personal prejudices against the minorities and communities, just so they can make a buck. because the blind hatred that they spew increases their ratings, and make it possible for them to demand ever higher phat contracts to continue to keep doing the same."
@White_Bite well "I'll risk catching Covid so that if I get better, I'll be less likely to get Covid again" is also pretty rubbish.
I'd far rather prefer vaccination.
@Chillax unfortunately as we still have First Past The Post, sometimes you have to hold your nose and vote for something less than perfect to try and make change.
Don’t let “perfect” be the enemy of “good”.
But we absolutely need proportional representation.
Intentional or not, getting fired by publicly contradicting Elon was a brilliant move.
Under normal circumstances, contradicting the boss in a public forum is a bad idea. BUT THESE ARE NOT NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
There is also the question as to what it builds immunity to.
@PublicChaffinch In the state of Glasgow three hundred thousand dairy crimes are reported every day. Only one group of brave men and women and dogs stand between the people and total hullabaloo.
They are the milk squad

Mastodon’s full-text search allows logged in users to find results from their own statuses, their mentions, their favourites, and their bookmarks. It deliberately does not allow searching for arbitrary strings in the entire database."

Labour Party 24254

Conservative Party 24844 Elected
Liberal Democrats 2750
A Tory win by 590 votes
With first past the post, the question is whether you would regret enabling a Tory MP.
You also need to wait for the manifesto l.
Yes, I would like a more proportional system but letting the Tories win isn't going to do that, whilst a lot of labour MPs and candidates do support it.
Despite being a red-listed wader in decline , 160,000 woodcocks are shot each year in the UK . If you think that's wrong , join our call to limit the shooting season at chrispackh.am/woodcock https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/619615
Thread 5/. The study authors warn
“To date, over 620 million people have been infected by SARS-CoV-2 with a significant proportion of them infected during the Omicron wave. While most patients survived the infection, post-COVID-19 sequela including neurological manifestations are common. The increased efficiency of BA.2 to replicate and causing apoptosis in the brain organoids is alarming, indicating that the long-term consequence of BA.2 infection in the CNS should be closely monitored”
This is going to be like food banks.
Conservatives will boast of this new scheme, when in fact it just papers over and medicalises a societal issue.
We should be enabling people to afford to heat their homes to buy enough food.

Not a difficult concept, given that it's been discussed on radio programs since at least the 1990s in the UK. Quite often with some attempts at costings.
We're going in the wrong on disease prevention, all over.
Treatment is more expensive.

Up on Rannoch Moor, Buachaille Etive Mòr stands guard at the entrance to the Pass of Glencoe. On this particular day, the temperature had plummeted overnight and snow had fallen. When I arrived below the mountain, I was in thick fog which slowly lifted over the course of the morning. This drone shot shows the peak sticking out as the sun caused the fog to burn off.
