You can get a Skype number that appears to be based in France. Depending on what exactly you want it for, that might do the trick
Somewhere, someone finally made this and I think it's beautiful: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4687836
In tiny Luxembourg, the govt has made huge steps in doing just that. The have abolished fares on all public transport within the country - all trains, trams and buses are now free of charge!
Far from what one might expect that they might shrink the network, they are doing the opposite - the tram is being expanded out to Findel airport (Luxembourg's only international airport) and the rural bus services likewise. My village used to have no bus service on Sundays and public holidays, now the buses run on both albeit with a reduced service compared to weekdays.
Most buses I see even on rural routes are electric not polluting diesel and of course all the trains and trams are likewise electric.
I think it's the bigoted f**kwits in the red-wall constituencies he's afraid of frightening!
The "we voted for it and we're entitled to have what we voted for" wankers!
Of course it is mostly in the USA that this will be applied as many other countries where these tech behemoths have branches have rather more restrictive employment laws that simple don't allow companies to dispose of personnel willy-nilly to suit their balance sheet.
An American bank for which I worked some years ago sent an email round to all staff saying that the company's stock had come under pressure on the "Street"(Wall St, I assume) and that in order to drive up their stock price and avoid the possibility of a hostile take over, the management had decided that 600+ staff worldwide would be arbitrarily sacked.
I was a party to the furious phone conversation between the responsible VP stateside and one of the directors in my European subsidiary when she explained to him that the laws in the European country where I was based required that the people to be made redundant had to be given up to 6 months notice on full pay (depending on length of service). In the end, only one person was made redundant and he was indeed required to be given 6 months notice on full salary with paid holidays and all other benefits accorded to him as a full time employee.
Note to self:
Never work for US companies - they are utter scumbags who don't give a flying fuck about their employees, only about profits, profits, profits!
Nice thinking - I like it!
Do you reckon we could convince Blojob that is just any old ordinary fridge?

Love the EU and all it stands for, moreover, I spent the last 10 years of my career working at an EU agency.
Enthusiastic photographer, especially wildlife and most especially butterflies.
Slightly knowledgeable gardener.
Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.
