Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.

I don’t know if “climate activist” is really the right way to put it. Like, if I’m drowning and trying to come up for air, I’m not suddenly an “oxygen activist”—I’m literally just trying to stay alive. Maybe addressing climate change shouldn’t be viewed as an “activist” position.

Years and years back in the 1970s, I was 'privileged' to watch someone who abused any drugs he could steal from pharmacies (in France) mix up a dose of morphine and cocaine with which to inject himself with water he scooped up from the toilet bowl in his apartment; the only source of water in his bedsit!
I have no idea whether he is still alive but I somehow doubt it!
...but it starts with a single step: rejoining the CU and single market (with that comes freedom of movement, of course, and a fuckin HUGE bill every year; probably much more than the UK was paying as a member!)

Private Eye writer, Tom Jamieson, has posted in total disbelief, a pisstaking, leftie-blaming piece that they wrote in the magazine weeks ago when Truss blew it. Never in their wildest dreams did they imagine she’d basically act out their prediction and turn it into a 4000 word excuse-fest in the Torygraph. But she has. And now she will never not be absurd.

Let me get this straight. Republicans spent Friday cosplaying machismo by encouraging their supporters to shoot down the Chinese spy balloon, which was 11 miles up in the atmosphere, a balloon so large it could hold an entire football stadium inside of it. No consideration of the danger of their useless bullets falling back to earth.
Meanwhile, Biden had already given the order to the military to shoot it down when it was safe to do so back on *Wednesday.* They had already jammed their signals so it couldn’t send any info back to China, and instead was collecting info on the satellite.
So as usual, we have Republicans acting like idiots, encouraging actions that posed danger to the American people, all the while hoping to “stick it to Biden,” when in actuality, Biden had already handled the situation days before by involving the military who had neutralized the threat and then ultimately shot down the balloon over the waters past South Carolina.
Vote blue, people. #news

Yes, I don't have a very high income as a pensioner but where I live, in Luxembourg, I am not taxed on it as I don't reach the tax threshold.
However, if I moved back to the UK, on the same income, I would be paying over £2500 per annum in income tax!
Here in Luxembourg, they tax the rich; in Britain you tax the poor!
France will tell him to f-off!
Albania may deign to take their own nationals but no one else and Rwanda will take anyone they are paid to take!
