So, in the last election there were only 6 cases of electoral #fraud (#MattHancock has reluctantly admitted). This from a #voting population of over 45M
You'll be aware of the number of cases of fraud by #Tory MPs (from a population of 355) exceeds this in nominal terms & is vastly larger in proportional terms.
So, let be clear, #voterID is about voter suppression not fraud.
If the #Tories were interested in #democratic fraud they'd put their own house in order.

I see a number of new folks arriving from #Twitter so I’d just like to say:

As I am at pains to point out all too frequently, all western European countries have similarly efficient healthcare systems; the system where I live in Luxembourg is absolutely 1st class too!
It doesn't matter one jot whether the system is private or public or some and some (as it is here, in France and in Belgium). What matters is who pays for it. Here, in France and in Belgium, it's the government who pays your healthcare bill just as it is in the UK.
From Twitter. So probably a response to idiots and liars about Brexit, NHS, unfairness, bigotry etc
This was entirely predictable as most people in the EU don't have passports as most don't need them! Travel within the EU, but outside the Schengen zone only requires a national identity card so having to get passports for whole families just to travel to Britain is gong to deter many potential visitors on the grounds of inconvenience if not on the grounds of cost!
OK, in most countries, getting a passport is simpler and cheaper than the faff-about you have to go through in Britain but even so!
Every system I have ever worked on has used UTF8. That covered all the necessary bases for most/all languages.
More people believe the earth is flat or inchemitrails than believe that Brexit is going well - someone tell the fuckin tories FFS!

I should be familiar with UTF16, as I worked multi-lingual programming but I have been retired for a while - UTF8 is or was the standard we worked with.
Conservatives in the past week:
A few children's lives are worth our freedom to own assault weapons.
Is child labor really a bad thing?
We need a waiting period on teens seeking gender care, but everyone should be able to buy a gun instantly.
Guns are safe; libraries are not.
What's the big deal with violating campaign finance laws?
Who cares that somebody violated national security and released top secret info?
Racists who go out hunting BLM protesters are just “standing their ground.”
It is a huge step, I know, I've dome it 5 times now, myself but it does get easier each time!
The best thing I can suggest if you are American and trans is to get the hell out of that shithole country!
Obviously I expected the GOP would go from banning gender affirming care for children to attempting to do so for adults, but I will absolutely admit the speed they're moving through these steps is breathtaking.
The best I can come to understanding what they're doing, in terms of how unmooored it is from public opinion and what they'd want to do to win elections, is that they aren't anticipating a future where elections are held.
but, but, but - the great American dream is that everyone has a gun and no one has healthcare unless they can pay for it

Love the EU and all it stands for, moreover, I spent the last 10 years of my career working at an EU agency.

Slightly knowledgeable gardener.
Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.
