Revolution is the only answer, however, I am reminded of the pitfalls of revolution as the same people who stood on the piled up bodies of ordinary people to reach the heights to which they aspired in capitalist societies, tend to do the same in post-revolutionary societies. Think of France where inequality is manifest (although not to the same extent as in the USA and UK). Think of Russia and of China where the commissars simply took the place of the high flying capitalists in order to get themselves and their families the best of everything whilst the ordinary people starved!
Repeating wisdom is normally not offensive!
Clarification needed here - it's not a knighthood he was gifted, it's a life peerage. A knighthood entitles you to be addressed as 'Sir', like for example Sir Alan Sugar, but does not come with a seat in the HoL.
A life peerage, on the other hand, entitles you to be addressed as 'Lord', as in Lord Sugar, as since being knighted, he has subsequently been been elevated to the peerage which supercedes his knighthood.
I thought you had to give up your seat in the Lords in order to stand as an MP. If that's not the case, it bloody well should be!

You're right I was absolutely shocked to find Perrier & San Pellegrino bottled water amongst many many other European brands on sale in supermarkets in Thailand. What the hell are we thinking of - transporting bottles of water halfway round the damned world!!!
In my local supermarket in Luxembourg, during the run -up to Christmas some years back, I was horrified to see a bottled water brand called 'Bling' on sale. The bottles contained water (allegedly) from a spring in the USA!

Just going to remind y'all that President Trump reposted a video of a supporter saying that the "only good Democrat is a dead Democrat. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/president-trump-shares-video-of-supporter-saying-the-only-good-democrat-is-a-dead-democrat/
When I lived there in the 1970s the air was barely breathable and from what I can see from the AQ monitoring stations, nothing much has changed since then!
I don't know what tossers like him would have the London administration do - just leave things as they are and kill 1000s of Londoners every year? The freedom to drive polluting vehicles is worth more than London kid's long term health, is that it?
Perhaps he'd like to F-off to Rwanda or somewhere?
In a determined effort to reduce pollution, the govt of Luxembourg (where I now live) made all public transport (trains, trams and buses) in the entire country free of charge. That's a bit outside the London Mayor's remit but I admire what he is trying to do!
Of course he could give his fückin brain a chance and just pay the fee on the very rare occasions when he uses his pride and joy and stop being such kiddy - is he out of nappies yet?
I agree but I wouldn't want to be accused of being vindictive

Both France and Italy are fabulous places and the Netherlands will totally blow your mind. Bits of Britain are well worth seeing but the poverty will do your head in - Ireland is a wonderful place with the loveliest people!
I would have thought it was obvious - she's half BLACK - it's racism pure and simple - the UK press hate her for being half-caste!
The British royals have a habit of making any member of their family as miserable as possible if they marry for love or even consider marrying for love (See Princess Margaret, Prince Charles, Edward VII for confirmation of this!). The British royal family marry out of DUTY, not love!
Sadly, Diana, Princess of Wales didn't seem to be aware of this!

I'm currently getting an avalanche of 'follow' requests from attractive (wo)men that I don't know on Instagram. It's exactly to avoid characters like them that I made my account private so my reaction is reject request and block!
UK benefits system, death
"The question was, what did government ministers know, and when?"
Good piece on UK deaths linked to disability benefit decisions, the investigative work of John Pring of Disability News Service, and the reluctance of mainstream media to pick up this kind of story.

Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.
