That should have been "...narrow MINDED..."

Ammonium nitrate - pretty much the only high explosive that is (or used to be) freely available to buy in any garden centre and in truck-load quantities, from any company supplying fertilizer to farmers!
Also the explosive that flattened half of Beirut when several thousand tons of the stuff went bang following an adjacent fire, whilst being stored (illegally, I believe) in a dock-front warehouse!

Coupled with the bans on abortions that are being enacted by the Nazi governance of many US states, I'd say the USA is vying for the prize of the most narrow mined country in the western world - land of the free my fuckin ass!
From twitter. It'll be about the awful Tory party, Brexit, NHS and other things the self-serving liars and cheats and hypocrites foisted on the UK
Are those brown stains on Harri's tongue and teeth?
They are indeed such beautiful trees when in bloom! It's a shame that the timber is not particularly outstanding when they are cut down as they are succumbing in numbers to a disease and many will doubtless have to be cut.
Contrast that with the timber of the sweet chestnut whose timber is extremely useful and sought after!
We are already under a daily bombardment from hackers of all sorts - from China, from Russia, from various countries in Africa and from the middle east - not to mention of course from the USA itself!
The problem is that if you say to the CEO or CFO of a major corporation "we need to spend $Xmillions to protect our company from hackers", you will more likely get fired than provided with the resources you need!
Jeezus what is the matter with people?
Rule No 1 of Hunting 101 is:
You do not fire unless you have a clear view of the target and can identify it!
The Italians and to a lesser extent the French are absolute past masters at shooting their dogs, other people's dogs, innocent bystanders, hikers and god knows who else but I would have expected better from the Irish!

I'm not American nor have I ever visited the USA so I'm hardly an expert on conditions there however, given that the US dominates the world news in the English language, it does seem like the US is currently the absolute worst place in the entire civilized world to be trans!
Driving down from the UK to ski in the French alps one year, we came off the motorway and took the back road through the French and Swiss Jura to our destination. It was dead of night and at any given moment we could not be sure whether we were in France or Switzerland as the main road alternates between the two. The border posts could seen but all were open, unmanned and often in the middle of a village.
This was back in 1980 - I don't know what the arrangements were between the EU and Switzerland but it was abundantly clear that practicality trumped and notions of 'state security'.
Yes - I live in Luxembourg where it is estimated that something like 220,000 people cross one of its three borders every day to come here to work. I live about 15 minutes drive from Belgium, maybe 30 minutes from France and 40 minutes from Germany, and pop over to Belgium to do some shopping or to France to eat in a restaurant. It's very difficult to explain that to mainland Brits because they live on an island!
Wow - you get that much daylight in the middle of the night - I'm staggered!

Detest tories. Subscribe to green, leftish radical politics but not to any particular political party!.
Love the EU and all it stands for, moreover, I spent the last 10 years of my career working at an EU agency.
Enthusiastic photographer, especially wildlife and most especially butterflies.
Slightly knowledgeable gardener.
Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.
