An Asian monk thinks he's found jesus face in a tub of margarine.
When asked about this, he replied, " I can't believe it's not Buddha."
You tell the hedge fund mangers to sell the pound, we’ll crash the economy, cost the country 37 billion, then I’ll blame the left wing in the party, the Bank of England, the state of the economy from Boris (even tho I supported it) Then we’ll cash in and with that money I’ll run again !!! Private Eye writer, Tom Jamieson, has posted in total disbelief, a pisstaking, leftie-blaming piece that they wrote in the magazine weeks ago when Truss blew it. Never in their wildest dreams did they imagine she’d basically act out their prediction and turn it into a 4000 word excuse-fest in the Torygraph. But she has. And now she will never not be absurd.
Let me get this straight. Republicans spent Friday cosplaying machismo by encouraging their supporters to shoot down the Chinese spy balloon, which was 11 miles up in the atmosphere, a balloon so large it could hold an entire football stadium inside of it. No consideration of the danger of their useless bullets falling back to earth.
Meanwhile, Biden had already given the order to the military to shoot it down when it was safe to do so back on *Wednesday.* They had already jammed their signals so it couldn’t send any info back to China, and instead was collecting info on the satellite.
So as usual, we have Republicans acting like idiots, encouraging actions that posed danger to the American people, all the while hoping to “stick it to Biden,” when in actuality, Biden had already handled the situation days before by involving the military who had neutralized the threat and then ultimately shot down the balloon over the waters past South Carolina.
Vote blue, people. #news
Luxembourg is a very civilized country! All salaries, benefits and pensions are index linked to the rate of inflation. We all received a 2.5% increase in October and a further 2.5% increase payable in February has been triggered.
As a Luxembourg pensioner, I will receive this pay increase - thank you very much!
No such generosity from the fuckin wankers in Whitehall!
@juliegrrl @Paulos_the_fog @hollybrigstocke huh, i thought everyone knew by now.
well now you do: QT is fixed and the audances are hand picked.
You could say Sunak's plan to tackle the problem of refugees crossing the English Channel in small boats was both legal and effective.
The trouble is the parts that are legal are not effective, and the parts that are effective are not legal.
Some years back, when I worked for an insurance company, we ran some queries against the motor insurance database just for fun. One of the queries we ran effectively asked the question if there was any difference between the accident rate for different coloured cars.
To our surprise there were significant differences between the accident rates for some colours as against others. The cars with the worst accident rates were dark grey, black, dark blue and dark green and those with the lowest accident rate were white, banana yellow, orange, pillar-box red and lime green.
we assumed at the time that this difference was down to the enhanced visibility of the colours with the lower accident rates.
Ever since then, when buying second hand cars, I have always preferred vehicles that are in the “safer” colour range although they are extremely difficult to find. For whatever reason, people seem to prefer buying cars that are dark grey or black or dark blue and those colours dominate the second-hand car market!

Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.
