@Surasanji Dont test me, the thought has crossed my mind more than once.
@freemo New in 2019: FreemoVac Old School Computing.
I have this nagging desire to build a completely useless piece of archaic technology using modern tools. A memory delay line. I would love to use fiber optics but and electrical wire works too. Obviously it would have to be really long to fit any significant number of bits in it, and even then it would be on the order of hundreds or thousands of bits. But the idea of storing memory as signals moving near the speed of light just tickles me pink.
@freemo Go really oldschool and make it with mercury. If you go as mad as a hatter, that is a risk I'm willing to take.
An image showing how the protoboard I designed is laid out as well as a picture of the printed board and my Frequency Counter design soldered to it as an example. I also attached the schematic for reference.

@freemo Ah, I see you took my advice on squiggles and points. Very electrical of you. Yes, indeed.
@Gargron I thought you were more of a top cat kind of guy.
@cerret smolfierce.
@Mrfunkedude Very sad indeed.
@Mrfunkedude It's more like chicken soup week. It gets made in a huge pot. HUGE.
@Mrfunkedude There is a mix of nostalgia and general good Jewish Chicken Soup in my Mom's style. Although, she does cheat a bit. The broth is chicken/beef mix. :P
@Mrfunkedude Yeah, it is pretty fantastic as is proper ramen.
As a Jewish man in good standing, however, my favorite soup will always be my mother's chicken soup.
It helps that it's like one of those handed down five or six generation style things.
@Mrfunkedude Nice.
@Mrfunkedude What is your favorite soup?
