Actually I know there are some people who's thinking about the long term consequences of defederation and is trying to find a solution to this problem. I haven't looked much into it but they're working on this project ufoi.org/ which aims to form a community of instances that agree to federate with each other, its not perfect but its much better than the current way of doing things which is not very transparent. FYI, this is not like a closed off group, they promote openness and decentralization, you'll get the gist once you take a look at what they're proposing. I first heard about this project from @admitsWrongIfProven and @freemo, they seem to be very open minded and transparent about everything which I really appreciate.

Does anyone have experience doing independent network design and installation? And if so, can i pick your brain? I have an offer to do work for a local company, but I don't know how to handle rates, etc.

Inner voice, you know, your own voice in your head. I've been reading up on how not everyone has it, without solid evidence or sources. This isn't exactly scientific, but I ask you for your own experience. Do you have an inner monologue? In a sense that you hear your own voice inside your head as actual sentences, like a constant inner monologue. Boosts are appreciated. 😃

The algorithm is supposed to make sure that two boosts of the same post are at least 40 posts apart in the feed. The idea is that if you miss one of the boosts you should still be able to see the other ones.

But 40 is too small a limit, and it would be best if we could customize it (including just not showing it multiple times at all, like you said).
