I've had the same email for 20 years, and I've been careful about giving it out so I have kept the spam to a minimum. But somehow I got on a list and now I am getting an average of 53 phishing scam emails per day. I have tried several different ways to block them, and some of them work, but some of them still get through. Any ideas how I can get off of their list?

Last week, as we reported on "It Could Happen Here," Christian Nationalists are protesting drug stores in a push to ban access to abortion pills, and thanks to pressure from Republican attorney generals, Walgreens announced that it will now "not dispense abortion pills in several states where they remain legal...either by mail or at their brick-and-mortar locations in those states...The list includes several states where abortion in general, and the medications specifically, remain legal — including Alaska, Iowa, Kansas and Montana."

A new study about seabirds and offshore wind turbines may surprise you.

A two-year, €3 million study of seabirds at an offshore wind farm off Scotland combined radar data with cameras to identify the species of seabird and create a three-dimensional image of birds’ flight patterns and how they avoid offshore wind turbines’ rotor blades.

The study’s findings: Not a single collision between a bird and a rotor blade was recorded.

I'm always dumbfounded whenever people respond to me saying "oh that bill will never pass" or "I doubt SCOTUS would allow that."

Like... Are you serious right now? What country are you living in? Because I was also told that Trump could never win and that Roe v. Wade could never be overturned, yet here we fucking are.

The rulebook was thrown out a long time ago. The safeguards to our democracy have crumbled— don't blindly rely on them. You have to be active and vigilant. Don't give me none of this passive "everything will be fine" nonsense.

We mathematicians have a useful phrase I wish were more widespread: “necessary but not sufficient.”

Voting is necessary but not sufficient.

Starbucks fired 150 pro-union baristas and closed a dozen unionized shops.

Chipotle shuttered a store in Maine when workers petitioned for a union.

Amazon spent millions to beat back union organizing campaigns at its warehouses.

Common theme: they're terrified of worker power.

Please, boycott Walgreens. There are PLENTY of alternative stores.

The nation’s second-largest pharmacy chain confirmed Thursday that it will not dispense abortion pills in several states where they remain legal

@dancinyogi Whether it's Walgreens or Disney or Cable TV, if they make more money because of it, they will keep doing it, and if they make less money because of it they will stop doing it. It's the only thing they understand.

@mmeadway Whenever I see one of those trucks with all the flags, I think of an old saying- "a real patriot doesn't need to keep reminding you he's a patriot."

We don't need the media. I haven't bought a paper or paid a cable bill in 20 years. We don't need the media. As Jello Biafra said "Become the media".

I don't exactly know the best method but I think it's safe to say we can't depend on typical news outlets to report accurately, we need to find a way to take control of how things get covered publicly

@StillIRise1963 Made me think of this Jon Ronson quote:

By nit-picking those who support equality and fairness you are not "keeping it real" you are fighting for the fascists.

A Republican strategy has fully emerged: tear people apart with hate and race-baiting so nobody notices that their pockets are being picked by morbidly rich oligarchs who are funding the very politicians who are trying to get us to fight each other. But how to combat it?
