Complaining about BigTech also advertises their name over and over... we can inadvertantly help advertise and spread bad news that they want spreading if it's true "Any news is good news" for bigtech......
So yes BigTech is doing bad but at the same time remember not to advertise their name too much like a reproduction speaker / copycat tannoy system!
It's a hard balance but perhaps I mean not being stuck in complaining mode and trying to find a positive way or completely different route without them....
We do feel things close to us so I get the knee-jerking feeling but I feel we have to move on to do our own things and even copy what they do but more in our own field of usage and safely, more for us than them.
Think speaking about things on a subliminal type of level when you're shouting out the oppressors name continually, and if it begins with G...F...A (or the other A) then consider not using them AT ALL or somehow not in a blaming / powerless way! We need to do xyz
(I think this sound right but I'm considering I might to improve this solution not to act as lower than them etc)
Because complaining includes a % of advertising or spreading that is why I suggest double-checking it
(especially if they want that as advertising and release bad news to increase awareness for products or before new releases so everybody hears about it)
Overall it's time for solutions to be promoted (your own included) and for those to be in the foreground and just using that...
and leaving those brand names behind!
*Go*All*Fantastic*Alternatives!

@freeschool one thing that Big-Tech inadvertently put into our vocab is the word "googling", which indirectly is a marketing ploy to use Google. Why not just use the "search the web"?
Or use specific search engine like searx or torch... so "searXng" or "torching" the web.
> Searx (/sɜːrks/; stylized as searX) is a free and open-source metasearch engine
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Searx
Where as searXng is a fork of the prior
> SearXNG is a free internet metasearch engine which aggregates results from more than 70 search services. Users are neither tracked nor profiled. Additionally, SearXNG can be used over Tor for online anonymity.

Torch is one of the tor search engines.
> Torch or TorSearch is the best search engine for the hidden part of the internet. They’re also the oldest and longest running search engine on Tor. Torch claims to have over one billion dark net pages indexed. They also don’t censor search results or track what you search for. No logs are kept, so there is no record of your searches. They also don’t use any tracking or analytics code for the sake of privacy.
