@cgervasi @wd9gco @smitty my guess is that it may have to do with the ESR of the capacitors? Could probably use fewer if the esr was low enough, but that also requires knowledge of what the chip designers would have wanted in the first place...

@niconiconi I would have mentioned the ADA4530-1 opamp, but the bandwidth requirement won't be met, as it's in teraohm ranges

Though 3 millivolt isn't that bad perse, as there are tons of instrumentation opamps that will have picoamps of input bias current. Obviously a noninverting amplifier would be the best bet, but I would assume most MOSFET based precision opamps would do the trick?

Don't know enough about the application to give a better answer, but I deal with this kind of stuff at work on a daily basis

@niconiconi I was playing with velostat to prototype some weight sensors, and it probably works better as a temperature sensor

I was across the room (~10, 12ft) and blew in the direction of my test setup. The resistance immediately started to climb like there was no tomorrow

I understand the desire to not platform bigoted people, though blanket bans don’t seem to solve anything either

@bcrypt it's bothered me to no end that every event I've gone to has super loud music

I'm 26, but have had my ears ringing for a little over a decade now because of a random loss of hearing (unrelated to noise, but equivalent). It's annoying as hell to need a hearing aide in order to understand people at a crowded restaurant. I can get by, but point being that if you have the choice it's a hell of a lot better to just wear earplugs (or turn the damn music down!)

@freemo might be partly because it has taken so long to verify new accounts with the servers being slammed. took me a couple hours, and on others it took over a day. some people may have been turned off by it
