@iron_bug well, i can read both without problems, it's just that analog is feels easier to. kind of the difference of touch interfaces vs. knobs for me.
i grew up with a grandfather clock ticking and chiming all the time, but there are pretty silent analog clocks too :)
@Pixificial i can take a very short glance at a clock and see that it's 20 to 4pm, parsing 3:40pm/15:40 takes much longer for me. it's a nice property that time can be visualized with segments of a circle. i think of 1h 30m as whole circle plus one half, and it happens subconciously for me.

xmpp had about a decade to fix stuff like file transfers and develop shiny clients. once i had many people using xmpp, everyone switched to various shitty messengers when smartphones got big. many of those now happliy use matrix on my own server. if you don't like synapse use dendrite, it is rather good now. if you don't like element, use another equally shiny client like fluffychat or whatever.
@marathon0 no harm done :)
I've been getting local produce all week, paying with cash.
Just had some more delivered today.

@marathon0 that was an empty message :)

this is going to be another hellthread, isn't it?

@niclas
funnily enough the milk produce from non industrialized farming that i do eat is relatively stable in price.
seems that feeding your livestock with grazing and hay, using manure as fertilizer for the pasture is "sustainable" after all.
i swear i'll end up in a stronghold-the-game like situation where i live only on cheese xD
@Pixificial @p @atyh @splitshockvirus @alcade point two pretty much nails it down. the last two years here in germany did really open my eyes to how the overwhelming majority of people will act if confronted by propaganda.
at one point the majority (>50%) wanted to inject me with something against my will - of course not by physical force, that wouldn't be "democratic". what people seem to miss is if you make everything verboten and add recurring fines of thousands of euros it's the same as putting a gun against my head.
when i look at the twitter accounts of colleagues i thought of as rational, they now appear as driven by fear and hate now. their minds totally destroyed, no sanity to be found.
so, yeah, point two fits the bill.
> Not being anonymous has its benefits. People see another genuine person, so they feel a more familiar and friendly vibe from you, it strengthens others' interest. It also shows your confidence over your activity.
i never really had this problem, i have spend so much time on the net that i can attach personal feelings to screen names. for example, i really _miss_ some people who disappear from here.

don't only rely on my words, read what happy customers wrote about me: "10/10 would buy again", "top seller, great value", "wildly incorrect", "teil des problems", "without imagination", "Repeated provocation using copy/paste.", "if you take a dump in my mentions, I just might notice the smell", "log out and never login again", "Du redest wirr.", "My brother in Christ, this is such a ridiculously dumb statement that I will no longer entertain this silly conversation.", "Auf Derailing-Diskussionen habe ich keine Lust. Finger über dem Blocken-Knopf.", "Wie gesagt, du kannst der Diskussion inhaltlich nicht folgen."
