The Abyss is not the present state of the Earth, or Humanity, although we are certainly in for a challenging century.
No, the Abyss is the world of dramatic distortions, the wild, wilful telling of untruths and the participation in these lies done by hundreds of thousands of people for fifteen seconds of attention which continues on social media and in wider public life every day.
To a human who values truth and honesty, this is a terrible thing to see.

@mangeurdenuage well, i guess every family is broken and crazy in some way. i wouldn't want to deal with the ordeals you have to deal with.
the havoc parents can wreak on lives is really hard to compare.

@mangeurdenuage i think deep inside they know that the way they consume alcohol is problematic, but if someone drinks with them it's "ok" and the other person isn't more virtuous then them anymore.
would be pretty nice if that generation would fix their mental health issues instead of badly medicating the symptoms all the time and being a pain for others as result
