The group of people who are trying to divide the fediverse seem to have reached a new low.. They have a tool that lists how many instances block a particular instance, but it is highly manipulative.
For starters it is hand curated.. so they exclude blocks against their own instances and only includes instances they actually dislike.
Worse yet they curate a list ordered by "most blocked".. problem is they use the number of instances that block. They game the system by having large number of single-user instances. So instances in the top 50 may only be blocked by a few hundred people but still appear as if the blocks are significant....
This is why we need transparency, its why we need the https://UFoI.org
I'll be posting a series of posts showing the lifecycle of different berries.

@realcaseyrollins of course those private videos shouldn't be leaked and revenge porn is evil, which is a seperate action though.
if you let any random hookup film you, this is to bound to happen, given how morally rotten everything is.
@realcaseyrollins a majority of people can't handle the concept of action and consequences anymore. be it this or attacking rittenhouse with a skateboard to the neck aka. murder.
@nexus_plasma juckt mir grade in den fingern das auszudrucken und aufzuhängen in ämtern usw. :)

> fully understand the threat Musk represents to the future of free expression and journalism itself.
musk by use of violence keeps these journalists from:
- publishing for their respective employers
- setting up a blog
- running their own instance of their favorite fediverse software
- join any of the many servers available. preferably the biggest one because that shows how much they understood the value of the distributed nature of the fediverse in the light of the things happening with twitter.

summary:
- you are fine with giving up the E2E security that https is.
- you instead suggest that applications just roll their own crypto themselves to protect their users against MITM by CF.
- you declare that https via tor doesn't work.
- you list the "free" stuff CF gives you to make your life totes 100% easier - it's CLOUDSCALE after all!
- you say that one company (maybe just a CIA front, who knows) spying on god knows how much _unencrypted_ traffic, end to end, is no danger for democracy.
- instead you say that a few people are literally dooming democracy by spreading "misinformation" - whatever that might be.. negative information? the absence of information? what?!
@supernovae @jeff @ryanschultz One of the most indispensible security tools for end users is Tor. #Cloudflare is a malicious actor serving an attack on the Tor community. Without CF, the DoS on Tor users was limited to websites that proactively block Tor. CF has crippled Tor even in cases where the admin is Tor-unaware or ambivilant. That is, the attack on Tor is a /default/ behavior most admins are unaware of.
@supernovae @ryanschultz @jeff #Cloudflare /could/ have designed their service in such a way that it does not compromise the security of everyone else, but they opted not to. Why? Capitalism. The customer’s users are not CF’s customer, so the business model does not accommodate CF worrying about the security problems of the end user. Thus CF has no problem w/adding to the security problems of non-customers.
@supernovae @jeff @ryanschultz One man’s protection is another man’s threat. #Cloudflare doesn’t merely give security, it /shifts/ security so that one person gets a bit of security relief at no cost, while *thousands* then have to face the security threat & burden of a service-denying centralized MitM. What do you mean by “CSAM protection”? CF protects CSAM pushers. Is that what you are refering to?
@ryanschultz @jeff If you’re an admin who values human rights, civil society, journalism, or democracy, jailing your service in the exclusive & privacy-abusing #walledGarden of #Cloudflare is the worst thing you can do. See https://framagit.org/dCF/deCloudflare/-/blob/master/subfiles/rapsheet.cloudflare.md
