I realize I haven't done this yet, but I am a #queer #fantasy #author and I do have some works you can purchase!
The Magic Surrendered:
An insecure empress must decide whether or not she should squash the rebellions in her territories.
A confident mage must decide whether or not to let her innovations become tools for liberation or weapons for oppression.
And both must decide if their love for each other can or should overcome their difference in ideals.
Now that it's done, I should post the link to the beginning again, shouldn't I?

Musk: [brandishing shot gun] I getta you now Stephen king
Stephen King: [sticks finger in barrel, gun explodes in musk’s face]
Musk: [with soot blackened face] oooo! Dat stepheno king!
King: [to camera] ain’t I a stinker
I’m not saying I chose to live here for the moss and lichen, but I’m not saying I didn’t.
50,085 words, give or take a few! :) And it's done!

@Bongolian When a nazi-lover tells you who they are, believe them the first time.
It’s #FollowFriday so I hope folks utilize the hashtag to find my account here!
Give me a boost! Maybe if I can show some of the big accounts on Twitter that it’s possible to grow sizably and quickly here, too, they’ll migrate over!
It’s not exactly #flashfiction for #FlashFicFriday, but I wrote a new sci-fi short based on my first generative AI art. It’s called ‘Brain Freeze.’ Read it here: https://carlfranzen.net/post/701577530672644097/brain-freeze
As you're considering the other new Twitter alternatives, ask yourself if you really want to go to another corporate entity that could end up being just as bad as Twitter and Facebook. Algorithmic sites, by design, reward hate and outrage. You're jumping into another fire.
We have a rare and fleeting chance to build something different right now.
I'm choosing to spend my time trying to make this place succeed — helping new users and saving my best content for here.
I'm a writer of novels, not a scientist, but my solitary joy is to take a water sample from a scummy puddle or tide pool, and bring it home, and put it under a microscope, and see I find there. Then I draw it (badly). Then I attempt to look it up in FRESHWATER INVERTEBRATES OF THE UNITED STATES by Robert W. Pennak. Great book for that sort of thing. That's about it. Rotifers are my passion. And tardigrades. @yerald @actuallyautistic @adhd #ActuallyAutistic
Since there is no such thing as job security in #academia, at @mkerjean 's suggestion I would like to advertise that I am currently looking for a postdoc position in category theory (especially topos theory and categorical algebra). I'm happy to work in a maths or computer science department, anywhere in Europe.
I've been around the #fediverse for over a week so it might be time for an #introduction.
Born and raised in #Sweden, I have subsequently lived in #Scotland (#Edinburgh), #England (#London), The #Netherlands (#Amsterdam). I now live in #USA, north of #Seattle, #Washington as an #American.
I work as a computer consultant for a large US corporation.
I am married to a #Black woman, which has taught me much about my #privilege. I'm not through learning yet.
I speak #Swedish, #English, and #Dutch, and can read with more or less proficiency in a number of other European languages.
Among my interests you will find (in no particular order):
#trailrunning (the best kind of #running), #politics, #photography, #news, #sailing, #snowboarding, #camping, #cats, #dogs, #chicken, #nature, #hiking, #bicycling (or should that be (#biking), #travel, #humor
If I follow you it's most likely because something you posted piqued my interest. There is no need to follow back. If I stop following you, it's not a valuation of you or your posts. It's probably more that I"m overwhelmed and need fewer posts in my timeline.
@mathewi I hear you, and I'm not saying it's Mastodon or nothing. I just don't know that anyone can fix "the problem" because I don't think "the problem" is something they can fix. Even the guy who ran Waze. On Post.news specifically, I already see some red flags -- starting with the pyramid scheme "jump the line if you sucker five friends into joining" signup offer. That's not cool.
Does anyone have recommendations for books that feature political intrigue, especially machinations at court? Could be any genre. Thanks.
#FollowFriday Looking for more #LawProfs to follow! Also, a tag for #BusinessLawProfs, #ContractsLawProfs. Would love to follow you!
Axolotl friend, it's dangerous to go alone, take a fondy friend.
More sketchbook pages, this one all came together in one go.
