An astounding image of our moment at the precipice:

Climate activists standing against the inhuman-scale machinery of the open-pit Lützerath brown coal mine, with a wind farm visible in the distance.

I think taoism is actually super duper helpful for doing anarchy. Inherently most people want to control the world arround them. But learning to adapt to chaos quickly puts the radical at a massive advantage in many conflicts.

Cops cannot handle situations where they haven't planned and have to adapt quickly in situations with little info. Going with the flow and going along will allow you to strike faster and evade better.

Authority will allways get trapped cuz they need to understand and trap the madness of the world. The ones who maniacally laugh and jump into situations which are unpredictable, make no sense and with maddening sadness will fare so much better in situations of chaos.

This year, scientists at RBG Kew described a new species of flower, Victoria boliviana, or the giant Bolivian water lily. Its leaves can grow to a staggering length of 3.3 meters across (over 10 feet). Kew researchers observed it in the wild & confirmed its status with DNA. But a dried specimen turned up in Kew's collection, where it had been sitting over 170 years. More here: https://www.kew.org/read-and-watch/top-10-species-2022

This is who Ed Mullins is. The guy who doxed the Mayor’s daughter for attending a George Floyd Protest—all while ripping off his fellow cops’ union dues. What a guy.

I eulogized #davidcrosby for NPR Music. https://www.npr.org/2023/01/19/750902962/david-crosby-obituary

I took this photo, and it’s not AI-generated

It’s still kinda wild to me, like kind of light pit 😁

I bought another reach extender and now I feel like God. You really can either hate yourself for years for being disabled, or acknowledge you could use some help

@Turntwo363 @BlackAzizAnansi When I was at Office Max a woman said to her kid, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, “This is why you go to college, so you don’t have to work at a cash register.”

I told her, “I have a bachelor’s degree.” And she shut her damn mouth.

Wow! This is BIG - the Apple Lisa source code has finally been released!

This was something that was asked during the VCF Midwest panel for the Lisa Documentary.

It's so very cool that the Computer History Museum was able to get permission from Apple to release the source code... and on the Lisa's 40th birthday 🎉
