A bit of [local news](https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/3745350-oregon-governor-pardons-simple-marijuana-possession-convictions/ ):

"Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D) announced on Monday that she is pardoning prior offenses for simple marijuana possession, removing more than 47,000 convictions from individual records.

This move will affect up to 45,000 individuals in Oregon and forgive $14 million in fines and fees, according to a statement from Brown."

Good, but like Biden's move to pardon, later than it should have been.

Interesting article on the challenges of preserving the more unique #arcade cabinets.

#DigitalPreservation is sadly a topic that doesn't get much media coverage. Particularly with video games, we risk losing modern works of art. #videogamepreservation #gaming #retrogaming #xp https://arcadeblogger.com/2022/11/20/the-last-ridge-racer/

If you're looking for people working in or on #museums on Mastadon, I've set up a google sheet that people can add themselves to.

Google sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pKt9Yn5NPZXzJzY0Z4hMP3edXbyK2qMw9uCRAn9wzKQ/edit?usp=sharing

Please avoid adding other people who have not consented to being on the list.

The more I go back and look at my #Twitter timeline, the more I say to myself “Damn!! You people are angry!”

A fair time ago I shot a little tree in a lake, that lake being Lake Wanaka, that tree being that tree..
Not really popular at the time this location is really like crack to photographers, a single tree in a beautiful lake, changes with the seasons, you get storms, stars, snow.

I have many shots (none since it got damaged) this is one of my favs

I first heard this idea on TikTok and wanted to expand on it here. Deanna Troi needs to have a badass scene in Picard Season 3. She's never really had one.

She needs to be staring down an enemy who says "who the hell are you?"

And she replies "I am Deanna Troi, Daughter of the Fifth House, Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx, Heir to the Holy Rings of Betazed." And then she phasers the crap out of them. "Show some respect."

My first #WildflowerHour post on Mastodon! 🥳 A bit late as I only got my account up and running late on Sunday evening. Anyway, here it is, some road verge Bush Vetch, Vicia sepium.

This seems like an appropriate first comic for mastodon.

I see #Bookstodon are listing 5-7 of their favourite authors! Here are mine:

#JaneAusten of course, most brilliant author ever
#JRRTolkien crafted such a beautifully rich world
#PhilipPullman whose His Dark Materials continues to blow my mind
#AgathaChristie 's stories rarely fail to entertain me
#RickRiordan 's books are fun, educational and gripping
#AlexandreDumas purely for The Count of Monte Christo which is a work of genius tbh

Dear admins. Don't allow to many people on your servers. It looks first you can handle it, but most people make an account, and a week later they really start using it. Following people, tootin', etc. So don't go to the max. Open and close sign-ups with caution. You can thank me later.

I'm a 59 year old African American woman. I've desegregated a town, a school system and many other spaces. When I discuss racism in this nation, I'm not going to ameliorate my speech for the comfort of anyone. I don't exist to comfort others about the reality of what I was born into - what we all live in together. If that's a problem for you, I suggest you embark on some self-reflection to determine what your actual role is within this system.

You might be asking, "Why build a custom Fediverse app for emergency response?"

For the following reasons:

1. Protocols like ActivityPub are open and free to use
2. The Fediverse gives emergency response access to a network effect without having to build it from scratch
3. Because Fediverse apps talk to each other, when emergency response sends updates, all apps and instances on the Fediverse receive updates
