I captured my first ISS Solar transit last June, the ISS passed between me and the sun in 0.86seconds, silhouetted against it. In order see the flyby in the center I only had to drive to an island 8-10min away and set up my gear. A star tracker would’ve been helpful, the sun is moving fast and since it filled the frame, frequent readjustments were needed up until the last seconds, but I pulled it off 😵‍💫

Good cardiology appointment. Chest echo showed no scary changes. Everything has stayed pretty much the same. My vitals were good (oxygen 91%!) She wasn’t surprised that being bedridden for a month had wiped me out. Taking my little walks is the right thing to do to get strength back. She’s happy I’ve gained weight and got appetite back!

It’s not time for hospice yet *whew*

3 years ago today I was in a Super Bowl commercial for an instant, posing inside a #Stonehenge replica. Seems like eons ago now.

*Creating* generational wealth is not hard for Black people. It's happened many times in US history. There have been thriving communities.

*Keeping* generational wealth has proved to be nearly impossible. Between racist pogroms, and eminent domain used to create parks, freeways, reservoirs, and shopping malls, Black folk in the US have consistently had their wealth stolen by white folks.

I still run into New Yorkers that go to Central Park every week, but have never heard of Seneca Village.

Nests of The Central American paper wasp (Apoica pallens) have no enclosing envelope and are composed of a single comb that hangs under a branch.

Large nests have a distinctive appearance similar to a straw hat or basket.

When I was a kid, we'd secretly pass around a copy of 'Scruples.' 'But we had a library stocked with books on history.

My fear is that in ten years, kids will be secretly passing around 'I Am Rosa Parks' because there are no libraries in schools, and education has turned into white nationalist indoctrination.

I cannot stress this enough. Turn your attention to school board elections. Focus on local politics. That's what the GOP did, and look at where we are. We CAN reverse this.

There's no safe place to be right now, in any country, on several levels, so:

Or, pet a cat.

Feel better? Wait. The cat has had enough. *murderclaws extend* Oh no! Now you've got Cat Scratch Fever. You didn't seek help right away, and now you've hospitalized with I.V. antibiotics and you find out your insurance doesn't want to pay the cost of your treatment. You want to start a revolution, but you can't get enough people to care about how healthcare is more of a utility and shouldn't be run as a for-profit business, let alone can you get them to care about rising fascism or rising sea levels.

You go to shout out the window "I'M MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!" but the windows in hospitals don't open, so you end up sort of shouting at the window, wondering if anyone, anywhere, cares enough to do something.

I was kept out of wood, auto, and metal shop in high school because I was a girl. A fellow Greener taught me a lot about working on cars, and I learned woodworking in the shop there. That said, the regular male faculty preyed on young women students. And it was still known that girls don't play guitar, they can sing or be groupies.
Haha still furious really.
