Serial Cloner was so great but no longer runs on macOS.
I just got a message saying that DeepStrand are taking it over. However, the webpage is a bit disappointing. No info on who is behind the company. Plus it sounds like Serial Cloner 3.0 will be a web service rather than a standalone app. Does anyone have more info?

The American Museum of Natural History is one of my favourite places - it was great to visit again, crowds & all. When we lived in New York, I was a volunteer at the museum - I recommend the program to anyone living in the city (you don't have to be a scientist, in my group there was everything from lawyers to bodega owners).
'There are few constants within the world of weight loss, but one concept holds up: No matter how you lose weight — through restrictive eating, bariatric surgery or the new, buzzy class of injectable medications like Ozempic and Wegovy — you’re also probably shedding muscle'

Why we think every scholarly organization, but in particular scholarly societies, should not just migrate to #Mastodon, but host their own instances - and what that has to do with the journals many scholarly societies use to generate revenue:
Early days, but this is worth keeping an eye on:
"Other aspects of the donanemab trial are likely to be especially intriguing to Alzheimer’s experts. Patients stopped receiving donanemab and were switched to a placebo if their amyloid was cleared below a certain threshold. About half reached the threshold within a year, and their decline kept slowing even after they stopped receiving donanemab."
'We developed Complementarity-Driven Deferral to Clinical Workflow (CoDoC), a system that can learn to decide between the opinion of a predictive AI model and a clinical workflow. CoDoC enhances accuracy relative to clinician-only or AI-only baselines in clinical workflows that screen for breast cancer or tuberculosis (TB).'
