Brexit Wars part II: Right-wing Conservatives want Britain out of the European Convention on Human Rights.

For years, UK Conservatives seeking right-wing support have floated idle threats to pull Britain out of Europe’s top human rights treaty. This time, they might actually mean it.

It would be a seismic decision. The only European nations that are not members are Russia — expelled last year after invading Ukraine — and Belarus.

no surprise that the continued delay to conluding the deal (already mostly finalised) is leading #scientists & research staff to either decamp to new jobs in the EU or not apply to come to the UK to join research projects....

My guess is by now the damage is irreversible, become yet one more cost of #Brexit & the #Tories political myopia.

I think this is interesting and welcome, especially on mobile devices. It is not without problems to want to quickly check some fact on your phone, download the PDF, go to landscape mode, find the right location in the paper, zoom in, etc.
