Vomitorium, Roman theater, #Cartagena, #Spain.
Originally the word "vomitorium" was related to the meaning of expeling, and a vomitorium was simply the exit, the means of leaving the theatre.
At some point the word vomit came to mean "unexpected and possibly violent exit of half-digested food from the inside of the body".

Read this #OpenAccess Techniques and Resources Article by Alexis Villars, Gaëlle Letort, Léo Valon and Romain Levayer from Institut Pasteur:
'Humans transmitted the coronavirus to white-tailed deer more than 100 times in late 2021 and early 2022, according to new research led by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. The research also suggests that the virus probably spread widely among deer, that it mutated in the animals and that they may have passed these altered versions of the virus back to people at least three times.'
'The EU has hit Illumina with a record fine after the world’s largest gene sequencing company completed an $8bn acquisition without the approval of Brussels, violating what regulators said was the “cornerstone” of their authority.'

Nice review from Nature Magazine for THE THREE AGES OF WATER.
"With eloquence and practicality, [Gleick's] essential book discusses the First Age of Water, from the Stone Age to the start of the modern era; the Second Age, of agricultural, industrial and technological revolutions; and the policies required for the Third Age, of sustainability, if civilization is to survive."

'El intento conservador de tumbar en el Parlamento Europeo de la ley de restauración de la naturaleza ha fracasado. Este miércoles, en realidad, solo se votaba la posición de la Eurocámara para negociar con el Consejo de la UE la redacción de esta norma propuesta por la Comisión Europea. Pero el Partido Popular Europeo ha hecho de su oposición a esta ley de biodiversidad uno de sus caballos de batalla en las últimas semanas.'

'In his 20s, at the request of a gambling acquaintance who couldn’t break a losing run at dice, he undertook groundbreaking studies in probability theory. Before that, he invented the world’s first mechanical calculator – the snazzily named Pascaline.'
