@cyrilpedia i have a challenge to you :) make a list of the most commonly used scientific jargon terms and afterwards try to find a commonly accepted definition. For many, it will be impossible ;) their usefulness is to help us ignore the “small” and “meaningless” disagreements (for now!), and give the foggy perception of common ground. This is in my opinion crucial for scientific advances … further discussion on this topic demands beer and nice place to hang out…

"One of the most difficult impulses for scientists to curb is the tendency to use specialized language that no one else understands. Every scientific facility I’ve worked in has had its own specific vocabulary, and every scientist has had their own inscrutable, hyperspecific terms for aspects of their project."
"In this Review, we discuss the origin, heterogeneity, phenotypes, and functional plasticity of TAMs in GBM. Moreover, we pinpoint the aspects of emerging single-cell technologies to identify new TAM subpopulations, which might play a critical role in GBM progression and immunosuppression. Finally, we discuss the current TAM-targeted therapeutic potential in GBM."

'He no ha dado detalles sobre sus experimentos con los embriones ni publicado un estudio detallado sobre el mismo. Un borrador de su estudio desvelado en 2019 por Technology Review mostraba que la edición genética de los embriones había sido imperfecta y que al menos una de las niñas llevaba en su genoma errores no deseados.'
In August 1936 Robert Capa left for Spain with the intention of documenting the Spanish Civil War on the front line. Capa is passionate about the anti-fascist cause, takes a stand, becomes a militant, telling like no other the strength and courage of men in struggle and the difficulties of an afflicted and innocent people. The photo, known as “The Falling Soldier”, was taken on the Cordoba front, in Cerro Muriano, during a Loyalist offensive

"In light of this development, there has clearly been a paradigm shift away from the sexual stereotypes dominating the early era of sexual selection research towards a more nuanced viewpoint acknowledging that females can be subject to sexual selection too. This progress was substantially fostered by the rise of molecular paternity analyses in the early 1990s revealing that females of many putatively monogamous species are actually polyandrous [25]—also called the “polyandry revolution” [26], which spurred the quest for understanding the adaptive significance of multiple mating from a female perspective."

You see a European artist's worktable from mid seventeenth century. These worktables were places where paper was used, a place where ink, quills, and paper was stored and handy. Let's focus on this in more detail, a short thread for friends of #paperhistory.
