Ever wondered whether GC-Tfh can be recalled upon secondary challenge? And if so, what cell type they become?
@Dr_Will_Foster
used S1PR2-ERT2 fate mapping to show that most are recalled to be Tfh cells again, but some become Th1 cells as well.

But many reform advocates think an overhaul of the United States’ public health system may be years away, if it happens at all."

Thrilled to have Professor Jacques Miller's milestone #thymus discovery featured in this @Nature@twitter.com video.
It's the incredible story of how two researchers from opposite ends of the world united to solve the B and #Tcell mysteries - watch 👇

For both those new to Octavia Butler and those who have been devoted fans of her writing for most or all their lives, this article by Lynell George is essential reading if you want to better understand the author, her work, and her tremendous legacy. But it's so much more than a read, thanks to the stunning 3D artwork contributed by Ainslee Alem Robson.

"To overcome the limitations of IL-2 as a therapeutic agent, two strategies have evolved: tumor-targeted rather than systemic delivery and engineered variants of IL-2 that preferentially activate IL-2-mediated signaling through the IL-2Rβγ heterodimeric receptor without concomitantly activating IL-2Rα (CD25) and consequentially amplifying Tregs. Both strategies have been incorporated into PD1-IL2v, a bispecific antibody molecule (dubbed an immunocytokine) that combines CD8+ T cell targeting via PD-1 binding with an IL-2 variant (IL2v) defective in binding to CD25."

The argument for markups over low production costs are often framed as "Sure, subsequent pills cost $3 to make, but the first one cost billions and we have to recoup that investment."
It's fair enough when the company foots the bill for the billions of dollars in applied research and development (including testing!) needed to build on basic research subsidized by the federal government.
But that's not really what happened with the covid vaccine.
I am pretty solidly on board with the public-private partnership behind many pharma success stories.
But Moderna’s ridiculous proposed markup of a Covid vaccine, when development was subsidized by taxpayers, is reprehensible.
They are proposing a price as high as $130 per dose, when it costs less than $3 to make.

Here’s a telling example.
Two very recent studies asked the exact same cancer #immunotherapy prediction question, on the exact same dataset.
They reached contradictory conclusions.

'The young of large-brained species, if left to grow their own brain, would face a seemingly insurmountable energetic constraint, because brain tissue is energetically costly but adequate cognitive benefits arise only after a delay. We therefore hypothesize that protracted parental provisioning was a precondition for the evolution of large brains.'
"Møllgård et al. found a fourth meningeal layer called the subarachnoid lymphatic-like membrane (SLYM). SLYM is immunophenotypically distinct from the other meningeal layers in the human and mouse brain and represents a tight barrier for solutes of more than 3 kilodaltons, effectively subdividing the subarachnoid space into two different compartments."
