Microbe-mediated intestinal NOD2 stimulation improves linear growth of undernourished infant mice

"Here, we show that in both normal and malignant B-cells, CD20 down-regulation commonly occurs via alternative splicing in its 5′ UTR."

Analysis of copy number variation following platinum-based chemo.

"Here, we demonstrate that platinum-based chemotherapies also leave a type of larger mutational footprints in the genomes of exposed cells. These consist in an increase of chromosomal fragments of copy number between 1 and 4 and length below 40 Mb, possibly resulting from an increased frequency of double strand breaks in the chromosomes of the cells of exposed patients."

For those yet to see it: Europe's sleeper trains, mapped... files.wegewerk.com/index.php/s (Paris-Italy, and into Spain - those yawning gaps in the network just scream 'fill me!' don't they...)

10 years after we created Registered Reports, the thing critics assured us would never (in a million years) happen has happened: @Nature is offering them.

The Registered Reports initiative just went up a gear and we are one step closer to eradicating publication bias and reporting bias from science.

Congratulations to all involved in achieving this milestone.

A with a new method that could allow detecting a mutation in its infant stage, when it's still just a mismatch:

"Here, we developed a single-molecule, long-read sequencing method that achieves single-molecule fidelity for single-base substitutions when present in either one or both strands of the DNA."
