One day when I was a kid, the icecream-walla was outside, and my sister asked me "what flavour of icecream do you like the most?"
The question didn't really make sense to me, so I asked her: "What does that mean?"
She just gave me a strange look, then went out to buy the icecream.
I clearly remember the feeling of being the odd one out, feeling left out and confused about this apparently very common and expected human experience of having a strong, fixed preference for one flavour of a thing over another.
@digital_carver absolutely 100% yes. I have strong recollection of being told that I was blunt and that I didn’t know what to say to whom and when, I just assumed till I was diagnosed that it was me being a quirky sagittarian 🫣

That's my favourite thing about learning about #ActuallyAutistic traits. It brings back all the little memories that taught me I was "weird" in some unaccountable way, and makes them make sense as part of a coherent whole. It also makes them feel less isolating, knowing that there were probably other kids going through similar things in Kochi and Pune and Osaka and Hamburg at the same time.
