@mcc at least one Banks Culture novel has this as a plot point, Look To Windward

Suella Braverman's claim that the Human Rights Act (UK) is only good for criminals is an act of malign misdirection.

Politicians who attack human rights want to remove safeguards that protect us all from government and corporate abuses of power.

To give them free rein over our lives.

I really want to write stuff about basic troubleshooting theory because I don’t know who is teaching it.
I see endless “run this command” search results that establish nothing and have no tests for relevance to the issue.
There are themes that take so much experience to connect.

This was the British equivalent of Trump's Ivermectin grift.

The "New Outlook" demands that when adding your Gmail account, you also give Microsoft a copy of all your email, contacts, and calendar data.

The "Learn More" link confirms:

"Syncing your account to the Microsoft Cloud means that a copy of your email, calendar, and contacts will be synchronized between your email provider and Microsoft data centers."

THIS EVENING

There is a wealth of data available from the 2021 census, a decadal poll of who we are, what we do and where we live.

Bolton Council, Manchester City Council and GMCA are all joining us to dig into this data and share insights about what the census does and doesn’t contain.

Bring a device if you want to get your hands dirty, if not you can team up with others or listen to the expert advice on hand.

Tonight, 6.30pm, full details >> opendatamanchester.org.uk/even

@penguin42 @revk my understanding is that call handlers who get silent calls to 999 ask for any noise. If there is one in response to prompts, help comes. Doesn't have to be speech.

I gave in and “signed up” for the WiFi.

Well, Mr Fred Blogs, DoB 2000-01-01 did, anyway.
