@waltercool I always had a gruff beard, so shaving at all is a bit out of the ordinary for me
@freemo What made you decide to go nakey after sporting a beard?

Not sure if i will. At a minimum i will use it to shave the space around my beard.
But even with a beard I usually shave it off every month or two and then let it grow back. When it gets too long it annoys me and I like the do over... I may stay clean shaven for a while this time though, I dunno. I think im just bored :)
@freemo Well, i'm not all that interested in the shaving itself, more in the social aspects.
But if you are interested in wearing a beard: it's got to do with patience. There is a period of time where it is annoying (and prickly), but hold out long enough and it gets comfy.
Upper lip needs a trim from time to time (short prickly period) or maybe that's not a problem either and i am not patient enough either ^^
@admitsWrongIfProven My issue is if the beard gets too long I start to play with it and it develops into a habit and feels like a nervous tick. This starts to happen around when the upper lip or lower lit is longer than maybe a mm or so.
The rest of the beard I can tolerate quite a bit longer, but that has a similar problem when it gets too long.
@admitsWrongIfProven It has nothing to do with patience or self-esteem. I dont particularly care if anyone thinks different if they see me playing with my beard... I dont like it for personal reasons, like i said it feels like developing a nervous tick or something.
In short, having a long beard starts damaging my mental health... probably some mild relationship to trichotillomania or something.
@admitsWrongIfProven well it starts with me twisting and stroking.. once it becomes habitual the act starts to annoy me and eventually I want to shorten or pull the hair so as to stop the playing with it. It takes several days before id start pulling it.
Ifi do anything repetitively/habitually I'd get increasingly frustrated I think.
@freemo Well, in that regard i have no expertise. If anything annoys me about my hair, i get a brush (in case of beard) or cut it off (in case of hair on the head).
If you have any further clues, i'd be up to talk about it, but from a dead start, i got nothing. New phenomenon for me.
@freemo Oh wow, i had to look that one up.
Of course, i was just talking about stroking, not pulling hair. If you're given to that, it seems a short trim makes sense.
