@mark Thats a fair point. It makes sense to add a feature that prevents users from replying to your post.. or at a minimum make it so if a user is muted then anyone who replies to that user is also not going to have their replies displayed.

@lonelyowl @Popehat

Im not sure its about lack of perfection so much as uselessness. People can browse anonymously, so blocking achieves effectively nothing.

Cheering too early: As @freemo correctly pointed out, Musk "only" removed individual blocks (which in fact did not block users from the service), while the ability to lock out users from the service entirely remains (for Twitter/X). It seems as this most likely doesn't violate the App Store guidelines.

@Blenster If a trans woman and a black woman disagree, which one should we default to believing?

Call me strange, but my beleif in a person is based on their demonstrated honesty, the color of your skin or history of your genitals isnt going to effect that, nor should it. But by the same token you shouldnt discount **anyone** if their claims are serious unless you have good reason to think that person is dishonest, if you dont you should try your best to give them the benefit of the doubt and try to verify any claims if you can.

@jens

He removed individual blocked (which didnt block users from the service)... the ability to block users from the service entierly is still done on twitter and as such it doesnt violate this particular requirement.

@Popehat I just checked his account... it is real.

But the context is that he feels mute is sufficient and gets you all you need. Block makes no sense since users can still view your posts via proxy/public view anyway which is the only difference between a mute and block.

He kinda has a point... what is block getting you over a mute?

@shockrah yea the handle is great.

I actually have a variety pack of razors coming in. Though I hear feather is objectively the sharpest so im not sure what other blades could really offer.. but im willing to try them.

So yesterdays shave with mild blades and a fixed safety razor (on the left) for the first time worked out pretty well. Closest shave i ever had. Only issue was that it was pulling hairs so when i stsrted shaving against the grain i started getting some nicks.

So i overnight ordered a new setup (on the right) with two brands of ultra sharp blades and a new adjustable safty razor. Despite popular opinion i got less nicks and a smoother shaving when i used the sharper razor in either saftey razor, but the adjustable was nice.

Both brands of high sharpness blades performed equally superior to the mild with the feather being slightly better, no nicks!

Also trying out some various oils and creams for before and after.

COVID making a comeback‽

@darnell I cant wear masks... far far too uncomfortable for me.

COVID making a comeback‽

@freemo As a side note if I wear a mask entering a store, security will follow me around because I am a scary black man. 😂

But if they see my smiley (potentially #COVID spreading) face, they will relax. (No, I do not have COVID, I am vaccinated & boosted & I have always tested negative)

COVID making a comeback‽

@darnell There are a lot of good reasons against masks... communication is a big one. Not only does it allow us to convery important information with our facial expressions, but also deaf people cant lip read.

@olives At least now instead of a few people being tortured to death in the most excruciating ways for stealing a loaf of bread... now that same torture is spread out evenly over 7 million souls so we only experience a slow and miserable collective agony instead.... oh how far we have come.

COVID making a comeback‽

@darnell I think its good w are over the masks, even if COVID is still around.

@chestas I think i am more upset that there are chess teams that are gendered at all... like why would they need to split the teams by sex anyway.

@skobkin very doable without much advanced EE... but still a tehcnical challenge. Sure, would be fun.

@thor

Very true, but I think the description I just gave would cover 95% of people on it... just my gut feeling though from past talks.
