@jrdepriest shouldnt be something that is forced of course, nothing wrong with that... though you may be thinking of high magick and not thinking of low magick as magick (not that our definitions need to agree)

@jrdepriest I think thats a fine view (and not limited in scope to Pagan views)... I guess it depends if you define pagan as "non-abrahamic religions" vs religions/views that have a concept of magick (which seems to be a more common usage)

@cobratbq Oh absolutely... and I do want to try to get past this work around... but sadly i cant see a solution that I can live with.

@cobratbq hahaha probably... I was really excited about librewolf too (FF based)... so its been an emotional day lol

@mxtthxw

Poor tab management in firefox (both natively and when considering extension options).

Two major deal breakers for me.

1) Tabs do not resize as you open more. So once I hit about 20 tabs the rest scroll off the screen. As someone with ~100 tabs at any time this is completely unmanagable.

2) Lack of any native tab grouping (in a collapsible way) which may have addressed 1 to some degree, and is a needed feature on its own. Extensions do exist but none of them add the feature to the tab bar, all require convoluted UI elements that would be tedious and hacky/workaround at best.

@jrdepriest Yea.. only suggestion i saw was "why not multiple windows"...

I wouldnt mind trying an extension if one looked like it had a good interface... but all of them look quite annoying.

@jrdepriest they seem to get half way there with container tabs... they just wont let them collapse...

Really a shame because i like a lot of the other aspects.

@antipode77

Is this what you mean by collections?

support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/h

If so, unless I misunderstand it, it doesnt appear to have any relationship to tab groups (the ability to collapse similar tabs into one tab in the tab bar itself, rather than some other window or menu)

@antipode77 Collections are not a native part of firefox or librewolf. You are talking about an addon/extension.

See here for my comment about the various extensions that add this:

@jrdepriest

Yea I saw that.. few problems though

1) If i am switched to librewolf for security and privacy, then needing to get the features i need through third-party plugins defeats that purpose. I have no idea if those developers are trust worthy and their code isnt always open (nor do i have the time to check if the code matches the compiled).

2) The solutions I saw were all a bit hacky due to lack of native support and require you to interact with multiple UI elements in a way that is klunky and not nearly as nice as support that is integrated.

3) even with tab grouping doesnt solve the general poor management of tabs.. namely that if you have many open they just scroll off rather than shrink like chrome.. so if you use more tabs than the space allows its virtually unmanageable.

Wow and by extension doesnt even have tab grouping.... tab management is damn near useless for me here... Back to a fork I guess...

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

@BenAveling

But yea if you really need an actual cited example (which again seems very absurd and speaks to your bias that you think this has never happened)... here ya go:

You want me to cite the fact that at some point in history a person who had a gun was able to defend themselves in a situation they would have been killed? You really need a citation for that?

I mean sure i dont mind linking you to one of many many cases where that happened... but seems kind of absurd that you think in the history of the world that has never happened.

@Elleaster @ErikUden

@BenAveling

Right, cause all those good people whose lives were saved because they had a gun and were able to protect themselves... thats not a "legitimate use" and wouldnt have had a negative impact if it was taken away.... Quite obviously your statement is disproven by example, even one example disproves it.
