Right, but miriam-webster dictionary is copyrighted... your spellcheck I suspect is open source and even if it isnt likely doesnt have licensing on a dictionary nearly as complete as miriam webster... That may very well be part of the problem. As I said i often notice it has a lack of completeness even outside of variants.
I mean your link is a highly-biased non-news source... so even before clicking it I'm suspect it will be useful... But I suspect I know what conflict you are referring to anyway so I dont need to.
And no, it wasnt republican vs republican... it was democrat vs republican where 5 dissenting republicans could have been enough to swing it but nearly the entirety of democrats also opposed it so people are saying some nonsense where it was blocked due to 5 republicans disagreeing and ignoring the fact that other than those 5 all democrats and all republicans disagreed from the get go... so its kinda nonsense to blame the 5 republicans that dissented and not the 210+ democrats who dissented.
That is a perfectly fair evaluation IMO. Principles should not be absolutes, like everything in life you need to consider the context to determine how to apply principles, they are just guidelines.
Some wars are very much justified to get involved in: WWII, WWI, Russia-Ukranian war... they do exist. The issue is when we **start** wars, and when we try to manipulate the world in nebulous ways in disputes which are morally ambiguous at best.
Its the old stuff that cant be redownloaded.. sometimes causing broken threads.
But yea its not needed, just a nice little feature.
Twitter resources would be nice. I'd offer us to merge efforts and bank roll (i pay the 1000$ for QOTO out of pocket and dont take donations).. but I dont think us merging efforts would be good for either of us, people love to get upset over nothing. But man if we pooled resources....
I might be in the near future.. but we need someone "beyond senior" in many ways so its a hard fit... I'd need to see the Resume.
@vwbusguy Ahh, in that case we are talking about completeness I guess. In that sense I agree, they tend to lack a lot of words, not just the variants.
thats another way in which my infreastructure is more expensive. We have a policy of keeping all media and caches from the beginning of time onward. This means people who opt-in to having their content searched that content can still be seen from the begining of the fediverse and searched for, even if the server is long gone.
Costs us way more, but its a feature I'm glad we offer. Users can of course delete their data or opt-out
We absolutely dont give animals the credit for how intelligent they really are.. The more I learn about animals the more I realize we underestimate them.
@RushGirl That seems like a pretty poor analogy... Two sides both disagreeing on a bill or law, and thus holding up the government, is not the same as some random people blocking traffic.
Not saying the republicans are innocent, but to think the democrats are sooo willing to compromise and make bipartisan efforts and its the republicans who are to blame is just not the truth.. both sides are polarized, neither side compromises anymore.
@vwbusguy Thats why spell checkers have US english and UK english dictionaries. If you want it to label both varients as correct then you just load both dictionaries.
@JamesC Yea but at least we arent slaves, our government cant tell us what to....... uhhh... never mind.
Oh wow, ok.
I figured you were less because I use infrastructure that isnt the cheapest intentionally for some features that make admining a bit easier for me. So if your paying that rates on hosting that is on the cheaper end... that must be a lot of resources.
Thats part of the video I am referencing... It is missing footage of the hammer and nail, same location though.
QOTO infrastructure (not just mastodon but all our additional servers) cost us about 1000$.. I dont know Stux's cost, probably less, but its still significant I'm sure.
