@etherdiver

Just a few weeks ago I detailed the exact laws passed leading up to and including the nazi regime. Obviously your wrong, but I also wont waste my time on someone who likes to kick things off with personal insults.. So yea, you can go away now thanks.

@mxtthxw

> The cause of Hitler was economics post WW1, which was clearly an absolute cluster fuck whichever way you spin it.

Yea, and? Doesnt change the fact that a lack of guns caused him to have a much easier time with all that he did

> What if Hitler came to power and it was predominantly his supporters who had the guns?

Thats why its so improtant to teach our kids that being a responsible adult includes being a gun owner, to ensure we dont have those sort of divides. The government is just a bunch of rules if the people arent in line with it.

> "I like guns' is as compelling argument as any, 'protection from tyranny' doesn't add up.

You have made no case to that end.. I mean your one argument was "there are bad people in govt".. yet Hitler was a pretty obvious counter argument to that and then your goal post moved to "Oh well give it time"... The truth is, while your right only time will tell, all the evidence so far suggests it has been an effective preventative against a hitler, and it doesnt take much common sense on top of the evidence to understand why a gun would be a deterrent to such things.

My guess is you are more intentionally blind to the narrative because your trying desperately to justify a bias rather than view the situation objectively. Not that your alone in that, we are all biased, but your logic just doesnt line up with the reality.

@mxtthxw

Because guns arent about solving all problems. They are a last resort, as killing always should be.

One could argue our lack of ever having a literal Hitler while Europe has is at least one telling indication it is doing what its supposed to.

@caitoz Yea one sidedness is silly in a situation like this...

wait...

@dismantl Thats the one, its the defacto standard recomendation for those who want to learn git well.. its also free :)

@tripu yea me too.. like online reviews I just assume is advertising being masked as a review.. its usually obvious too cause its "top 5 best of 2023".. .never criticisms, just why a few options are awesome. Its all very transparent.

That said there are a few legit reviews, just gotta find them.

So weird dealing with two companies I've been trying to start both getting funding at the same time... One company I've been trying to start for over 20 years... kinda surreal..

Now I gotta hire like 3 devs quick as hell... fun!

I don't need innocent Palestinian civilians to support LBGTQ rights in order for me to support their human rights anymore than I need American conservatives to support LGBTQ rights in order to support their human rights.

Human rights are not earned. All are entitled to them.

Back from , and busy processing . Working on atm, struck by the elegance of the Agha Bozorg Masjid: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agha_Boz

While parts of it date back 700 years, it was mostly constructed in the 1700s, and is noted for its bare domes and symmetry.

@thor I think its a lot easier to understand than people realize.. though that isnt to say its an easy topic.

Yay, just came home to catch the end of the transmission from #saq The historic longwave transmitter located at Grimeton, transmitting on 17.2 kHz

There was a better article specific to the history of navigation, but I can't find it now. It was a horrible pain in the ass to do ESPECIALLY while at sea, and then it was discovered there was discrepancy related to distance which led to a better estimation of the speed of light. This was just about the time seaworthy time pieces came online.

BTW, I'm using a link to your photo for flerf discussion, among other such images. It boggles my mind how one can't just use a pair of binoculars to make observations that shut down flerf, but people are weird like that.

@SteelFolk

@GRA3432 @realcaseyrollins

And what did they do with the people living there? Were they allowed to stay on their land?

@realcaseyrollins My guess would be that when the Iralis used your brother or cousin or whoever as a human shield your desire to attack your own people woule fade very very quickly. After 80 years of them killing your family and commiting terrorist acts against your people you would just have a different view I am sure.

@realcaseyrollins

Not always but yea that did happen... probably a bit better than genocide.. but not sure why we are comparing to barbaric practices from anctient history compared to modern warfare..
