I guess the natural paradox of consuming and killing is always with us, but at such hyper speeds which people in science are backed by government doesn't seem to help in understanding that going slower or accepting existing more-careful ways can last us longer. so to do newer stuff is a BIG energy cost and risk in my eyes... for measurably less gain (as it's questionable to spend that much more time, energy, money since leadership / decision making is the problem I see biggest not the options or tools). Skipping manual work it seems cheats things a lot too.
As we had at various steps before new gain but just increase / leverage more population to push the same equation again expecting nature to always perform magic for us... so if we could just ride out what we have instead of stepping up the treadmill even more infinitely... I think that would work better and trash planet less...

I guess it's up to us the good guys (or less killing orientated) to "kill with love", restrict brute-force or however slowing it down in consumption and wastage / very extra conveniences... or however it is needed to do something less (starting with will to do that probably which isn't always there).

So if you have will power do DM me / follow / put notifications on... it seems you have the right kinda ethics and good to see where alignments are anyway :)
Perfection is not needed or expected (sometimes I think STEM is about making 'perfect' products and industry ignoring human imperfections is what we need to live with and just accept that without leveraging too much else or leaving it to leader with houses full of cash!).

Side-topic - Today on my profile I did a rapid series of "TL;DR" posts just to bang that out there as I was in the mood... but instead of that rapid fire I'm happy to chat on these types of posts a bit more or audio chat anytime.

It is genuinely interesting to see how we can find a way to balance out the natural human forces / needs / imperfection with those deliberate 'professionals' and hired guns who are taking advantage and formed by finance and hidden profit fiascos... Thanks for now / will read more your profile.

I'm not really feeling I'm dwelling on it (so check that in yourself for saying). It's more a problem across the board and standard 'breakdown' called 'communication' in it's limited and broken forms.

If I am in slightest dwelling it's most that and because I come across it so often - EVERYONE needs more work on it as good communication is part of good life.
It almost looks like I'm trying to make myself important but not everyone is just mostly kak (as the shortest way to say it, though many here do really well too answer or take internet as 'strange' by nature of people being different or under unwanted pressure generally from systematic patterns making them doubtful. sensitive or dubious about well, everything especially trusting themself and a few others)

So as a common thing and as my experience is what I'm saying that Mr. Stallman has and it's nothing compared to worse conversations I've already mentioned like people asking for contact but then not really asking for contact in many ways...

Maybe you're saying it as a trust basis if we were to talk... so that would make sense and valid in that way - so I would say as long as your accessible and not what I described as avoidant then you're way ahead and much above bad even in the worst case. But be like many of that description (including attempts to resolve it personally or skip audio chats if we did it before) then you might get some general feedback without names / details needed

(most of my profile is my direct experience so I'm not generalising too much and keeping it fairly real). I rank highly not to fall into same traps / habits and keep my experience as 1st hand / less doubtable.

I have contacted almost everyone I've ever met worth considering / every worthy website / even the lesser or long shots... towards genuine relativity I've come across... so do consider that in the future comments even if it's only as my experience that well people are usually scared first (but I don't know all the reasons, I do have lots of dubious replies sometimes more than talking about said topic lol). I have to say Mastodon makes it much easier and sharing... Emails less so.

Maybe we can exchange good Mastodon people! (a short list I'm sure! DM if you want)

So to avoid this turning into your thing - yes in some ways might help not to dwell on what hinders us but actually a lot of what is also happening (Stallman or not) is a kind of non-caring for comms OR caring-but-ignoring or caring-but-overwhelmed or better-not-say caring and basically emotional short-circuiting to even begin with talking.... and that is really similar to how you might tell people about anything taboo.

My best is asking people if they believe in banks: "no" mostly...
and then if they can believe you can go bankrupt - "Not sure"

"Well how about the banks said in 2008 they have very little money and need to take public money... are you ok with that?"
Err,,, watch them run out the room after a quick no realising they are getting cornered...

"They are cheating you/everyone and stole the money"

"What the government says is lies / colluding etc ... etc"

All hysterical perhaps in one go, BUT ONE DAY THE UGLY REALITY MUST THERE and be settled inside our self...

I think you mentioned somewhere banks are neutral but you could maybe ask on what you think of the above typical questions in the " " 's above

More about how weak humans are / can get...

People will pretend for this or many examples that it's not happening (anything else more than accepting stuff is going on and unacceptable with *something* that needs doing about more than 'just keep paying' <--- yeah!...

some people already agree bank practices are bad but it's like somehow is forgotten or overlook for other stuff! (crisis / "bail-outs" helps but barely on the radar also which also proves stuff... If I stole money from them direct there might be more of a who-ha or fuss about it - but pay endlessly and it's ok as long as al are duped)

If obvious stuff like that with using / abusing public taxpayer funds or any category of 'bigger than me' doesn't show how this makes people freeze or be in denial then I don't know what else to say.

People just ignore it somehow like someone being robbed and being shocked at what is going on.
You could say we're in lots of type of that that is accumulated trauma or accumulated sensitivity (just takes one false pillar to drop for their concentration to break and blame their pain on you or skip into the other track / narrow vision).

It's just too much for individuals emotionally to comprehend or even start to decide to fight back or admit... or anything...
It's like people doing sport for the first time...
because all their equations or assumptions (+ ignorant parenting) relies on not really knowing any of that... (life based on not knowing - a sad / Shakespeare-like tragedy)

and so even they don't understand life to make a concrete decision - it's all baseless or social aesthetics... and take away that or any pillars that is holding up logic and the whole construct will shutdown (CPU short-circuits / label made).
Of course it's not the banks ^^)

It's like "I'd rather be cheated and pay senselessly than deal with how meaningless life has become without simply acknowledging it publicly"

and yes they will complain every day. (Lemmings let us say, bless them and not looking down on them)

And communication is a bit like that with abuse of power in representing poorly (manipulation) / stealing money / lies / power / control / public money stolen (legal avenues) for private gain... ignoring and systematically ignorant.... basically ingredient for fascism or ANYTHING with HIGH LEVEL OR IGNORING.

It's hard even to admit being taken from and for some better to keep looking down as they walk.

Just they are emotionally coward or afraid or just don't want trouble etc etc - many things which only takes 1 thing to cause block.

The eventual summary is that the art of skim-reading anyone helps and and your own confidence / direction would help anyone reading any length of text...
but still the minimal is low so I'm not going to pretend about that.

The point is that it feels you assume or have more worried outlook (or did since we are clearing it up now) and often I see this as back-pedalling or even categorising it as hating... but saying what you see can help and also avoids hiding things (which I feel industrially and socially we have done so I use that as higher priority).

Again I reserve the right to moderate and even edit later what I write and mention why I change it.

You and all the readers should also assume there is more than what you see and if I say I've said / cleared all this with Mr. Stallman then no need to defend.

You could check yourself about why you feel need to defend (or consider this the check done ☑️ :thumbsup_hmn_g1: ).

Also want to talk about the blind watermark on some Chinese social medias, to track user across different platforms.

It's extremely dangerous when someone post those screenshots with their identity to something like twitter, since twitter is blocked in China, and the police can catch and charge you if they can proof you have the account on those platforms.

The best way to defeat that is turning screenshots into pure white and black, works with text, not work with pics.

And even if you have the skill of summarising (which I don't think everyone has) telling people in short can feel rude, out of context, or abrupt, misleading, disrespecting more things in that actual process

Usually the main thing is realising who you audience is and what it's for but almost ONLY of it's under tight control conditions but otherwise the whole of the Fediverse means it's also more upto those readers who enter the realm of blogging to see / speak with some people to see if they are a 'good egg' and go from there rather than expect something PERFECTLY short or emotionally clear as crystal !

We're humans remember (unless you're culturally machine-like like Germans or parts of STEM mentality that actually cut out human parts <--- partial joke about Germans but many culture or engineering processes or languages don't care about nature or people)

TL;DR short descriptions I think are very often possible and worthy to try and add but is a mini-art in itself risking it with the assuming skill of writer and if writer can categorise it well (this post could fit a few things)

Writing I guess should always be explored or not taken at face value for those that would like to write and explore things themselves) so 'writing' in itself doesn't match TL;DR which is 'shorter writing' (it's almost opposite to writing unless it's a status update or functional "I'm out to the shops - be back in 20mins"

Short descriptions need thinking what light to write it in...

This brings us to the next main point that LIFE is a communal / shared thing - it's not just my view (even my view is made from yours and 1000's of others, and if suffering etc is also constant naturally and less-naturally as humans then it's collective view and concept not just me detached from environment or me detached from you even! <---in a roundabout way )

Usually facts or mechanical ways are preferred in TL;DR versions but this doesn't suit a lot of life!

So if it's a life thing (full of chains / domino effects) or emotional things.. then what do short descriptions expect? To reduce the emotions or write generically for everything 'emotional feelings about xyz' ? (ok that actually seems to work but then you would still have to read more !

So TL;DR for many parts of human life becomes just another title for what the post title or intro would be anyway... probably

I like that the short version 'forces' me to right key parts but still it's like saying this post is about "hitting bat with ball" but needs lots of description and additional video to explain that process or which bat and which ball, the side-effects (spin / trajectory etc) and for humans that's emotions and internal stuff, not technology external stuff.

I wish Mastodon had a 'Show more' option (like the CW / Content Warning does) but so far no luck on that... even though it would be exactly same as CW just without the status of CW... showing a show more button... technology also encourages good practice sometimes even if box below the button could lead to more details.

Emotions are not short, and therefore forcing TL;DR modes is like cramming human thought through thin mechanical tubes, instead of more appropriate therapy like sessions where you get to the bottom and answer why a human gave such output at the beginning or expression (by going through the HUMAN layers and also helping people see what they mean too)

TL;DR for it's inappropriate usage (more-human things) is simply cutting out this process or expecting people to do all the humanity work (which itself is listening and responding - or harmonising). Machines are the one's with 'perfect' protocols so as humans one must assume more time and less skill in various ways.

Once you see how "poor Africa" or any cause is be monetised and donations suddenly accepted by companies then it will help you to see how the same people (often who caused it in the West) and the same governments and banks assisting those companies are the very same doing both 'good' and the bad.

They are the same in how far they will go to make money repeatedly for themselves....

Helping or freedom wasn't really seem historically there on the menu, unless it was to take on a bigger giant... and then kill each other after!,,, which today means financial strangulation / coercion / cornering them after said giants are dead and temporary agreements are done.

e haven't moved too much from this type of government program which moves on to force / pressure / exploit the next targets on the list (everyone).

To give water and have them as captured control points or give laptop to those that 'need' it with Gate's Windows on them; basically using whatever possible with pictures to show in whatever way what is 'possible' to help others... when at home it's also the same with money... the same self-ratified reasons apply from the few people with T-shirt there having little effect in the middle of nowhere to stop the same people taking advantage of them.

Not saying it's all bad (err well that's what I should say) or that it's always measurable other than how much % they pay banks and themselves or say they need for infrastructure BUT all governments and banks with such track records of helping war or making $ out of aid should be assumed more to exploit or take advantage than actually aim for equalising or bringing people to their own country for *suddenly* non-profit reasons or to help people more than use this moment or transaction to help themselves first.

Just saying "it's the same people behind all the rackets" so don't try trusting banks and governments for a moment...
you're on the outskirts of the CUT-THROAT BUSINESS which is ultimately armed at that level...

Trusting something in our own hands will take time (i.e. from our own freedom and our own ways of allowing people everywhere to live with less economic pressures is what is really going to work)

Not even money mis-managed by the same global banks will have long-term effect. The reality I feel and track record / template of most colonial empires still having left their on places like India and asking people to pay English damage.

We're in a bad place but fixing everything almost from ground up is what is clear at least. Banks at a the source of feeding bad things...

For all those who think Banks don't pick and choose, go for profit, or provide money to one or more sides of war. or think they are not responsible and neutral- WHICH PLANET ARE YOU ON?

We might be all considered 'useless'* but the key is to put that 'uselessness' together and make something out of it.

Extended version (optional)

This is how even the lowest of "low-value" people I feel can come out from being scored as 0 (compared to a specialist) and still hit well as a score overall and even sometimes score better collectively than a specialist (sniper vs. above average soldiers or universal soldiers)

* "useless" here means the opinion of a pessimistic casual observer that someone (anyone) is seemingly unuseful because that person doesn't see that their distant perspective clearly restricts their view (especially if pre-disposition is to be a sceptic / doubtful / pessimist more than looking for positives and working with many good points)

Even liking people is a better start, knowing they are often impossible to be that bad (it's hard to to find a terribly un-able person once you talk to them!)
Looking from the outside and without deeper conversation obviously leads to people seeing people as less useful.

As always, just takes more time to find it.
And even some skill by leaders to use it which could be said for modern day rulers standardising / boxing people badly! (In that sense there is not enough boxes / choices for people to fit in!)

@undefined @eren @collappsar I was shocked to see Mastodon active user count total (need to find post and add link maybe, hope I remembered right that it's real low though increasing steadily).

So this is about the numbers in that way (a bit tangential but focussing on Twits versus Masto's or why Mast is not taking off / has potential)

I think as usual it's lacking the 'bring a friend' process and motivation from 'talk to an assistant NOW!' which makes movement in any cause or movement understood (long before even assuming that your movement is happening...)

Examples - Like with GNU or whatever - first it's like

- "why is there a cow head as the logo?" (is it food manufacturer?)

and

- What is BigBlueButton and why can't I even try it on it's own website (or why is it a few clicks deep - why not like Jitsi a test URL?)

- "who can I talk to about it" (you can't, 2022 and no contact on many sites or turns into a survey offering you to de-anon yourself for dubious exchange / information / marketing transaction)

And if you try people on the web including official website, FOSS 2022 or Mr. Stallman himself- you might realise why NOTHING WILL TAKE OFF unless by accident or UNLESS YOU NUKED ALL THE COMMERCIAL ALTERNATIVES and forced people hehe. Great software- little people work (sometimes)... feels like @FediTips and some admins hold up some of this but still incomplete / asking for favour more than deliberate education / indication.

Anyway my point is that at least commercial sides do some things (even if badly it's better than 0).

"Good luck" people say (because they rely on it way too much)

For Any or

1- Make it easy for people to talk *to someone* not just text / website. Lemmings need direction and a pal / buddy at the beginning. They are not all coders lol ( % of coders is less than average person and even coders I've met who said 'how does it work' and I the lesser coder had to show them through Mastodon!)

- explain things / mass convergence / presentation / regular something / weekly conference etc...

I'm happy to do all the above
LOL - no please don't act like I didn't offer already all the internet help to present simple things more personally!

Fun aside - much is just like missing puzzle pieces and people don't see complete picture...

And that others NEEDS interest / guidance / practice / apprenticeship / (fuck the dictionary is tired already) and that is regardless of friends not being on there already or commercial powerplays top get users on it... just friggin' basics and not just all coding or coders !

This is all healthy in my opinion and I'm not even too worried about it - I just sent him disconnection warning at least as graceful disconnect :)

This is towards more healthy outcomes. I did some work for him and he wasn't interested in mentioning the rest... whatever.

Again text can make all this seem so bitchy but you have to also realise the limits of text and negatives (and actual believe in me a bit more !)

This text is like 'this way would be much better for humanity and even save time' and 'even the greats could learn from each other's mistakes'

So somewhat 'name and shame' is there naturally as living together but I would say that that is better and overrides things nicely (more than saying it's a 'famous person' that didn't reply)...
and nothing really personal was said / no details really...

If life is always an exchange (as part of life) I'd rather say why overall life is xyz or how it's poor constructively for others.

AND I do mention positive points like being responsive and the ping-pong of many emails which is excellent 10/10 even if wasted repetition / ignoring / illogical use of his obvious scarce but intentionally spent energy (felt like my dad not knowing how to manage emails)

I honestly think people won't fix up from people speaking out too... so just my thing.

The break-point / failures I call it out and have the reasons measurably for it. I count well and left to myself in conversation people should be aware it doesn't help others.

I call my own admin out on what they forgot about / ignore and survive well so why not Mr. Stallman ^-^

Nobody forgets me, I remind them well :)

If he wants he could say himself - it's also not for you or your place to feel bad for him. I wrote him don't worry! All is good - just not using his time well so I can't help him any more until he jumps into chat or writes differently.

Time is ticking if for unknown reasons and half-404 people selectively say things and don't even recognise your simple asking / pointing to things they IGNORED - really parts of my message were so really simple / soft / aligned free software things so I really have very much less doubt.

So with this mixed result and self-testimony in mind I think it's actually helpful to understand

and without being attacking to you the forward-looking attitude is what I'm looking for and think is better.

He would read what would be enough from my side and then ask "Can you write that in 10 sentences or less..." when it was said in many ways he could summarise instead of asking for more text he couldn't handle lol)

- Illogical Repetition
Even in less than 10 sentences he did not answer many things which would seem very similar / aligned. That was measurably strange / illogical for me.

- Spent time writing many emails to me but seemed that was mostly it (felt like he was waiting or not sure but never said)

So for unsaid reasons...despite answering whatever else he wanted to answer in my previous emails... I declare a lot of TL;DR here and possible selfishness (though there may be another 2022 winner hold tight!) and again I wasn't expecting much but the fact someone doesn't say fuck off is also an indicator

- Saying himself he doesn't know how to deal with many emails
(*despite my solution* of just audio chatting for 10/20mins instead of 10's of emails at least with me which killed time on both our side. I gave him Jitsi link to audio chat (or BigBlueButton would be ok) but no bueno and no answer why not to try.

- Mr. Stallman didn't even say why not for many things or even accept it would save time of 1 chat instead of 10's of emails incoming and outgoing (reading and writing etc) ^_^

I have to admit there is a heart in the picture because:
- He did reply
.. but there was *some* *very selective logic* and you probably assume any hero's or fame is sure to overwhelm people

BUT when we solve the email problem (which for me is audio chat) then progress can be made).

I told Mr. Stallman on a lack of will or trust basis I felt I had to withdraw.

Overall very fast to respond but was a bit avoidant at many DIRECT questions I even repeated simply in 1 line and asked politely !

(I wouldn't care if he would say a bit about why not or even no or something but would continue as if I didn't write - and that's a sure TL;DR person)

Nice guy - can't do his emails (as most can't) and can't jump into audio chat after 10+ short AND long emails.

Gotta learn to change weapon sir Stallman of the Good-Guys.
Time is ticking.

I could re-write this but it's probably not worth my time until I'm motivated- but at least you got some insight for now and if you have a brain can pick the best and learn from it, unlike some people... ^_^

What is TL;DR - A Series of Habits

e.g. Long Text Obfuscation
(deliberate use as a weapon or trick against others to build walls / rules / punishment programs using layers of text / paperwork as a buffers from the bullies / abusers who would like to distance themselves from their targets and keep hands clean using middle-men enforcers)

e.g. Legal Construct / Legalese /
(same as above but used against people by demanding more time and intelligence to understand AND/OR requirement to use expensive lawyers who always swear allegiance to the 'Court' or authority they are a member of + often also play an inside game / collude internally / can be bought)

e.g. Complicated Computer Code (a mix between user and developers code to lock others out - not always intentional but can end up being 'for the people' but unusable 'by the people')

All the above have a mixture of...

a) natural complication in understanding / transferring any theory or practical, which can naturally reduce tolerance or add a higher boundary to jump in any understanding but helps *when readers continue even if they don't know why it's useful* and seeing how believing it's worth reading actually can get them there in the end... (like teenager that doesn't want to start anything and then suddenly is all in to it and doesn't want your help any more).

b) deliberate layering to hide / nest intentions and trick people / make it more demanding / exhaust people effectively weaponising it against people from those creating and those unable to effect or have a say.

(which still doesn't mean it's ok to not to read or not to at least acknowledge a problem / deliberate tactic because it needs dealing with / incrementing in life and *NOT* ABONDONING*)

@2ck I often feel feedback on Mastodon would be best / responsive... for this software or for Mastodon itself! (Feedback / comments could be on the side from Github which I do get is more process related etc but could let the non-Git fans have some place searchable like a guestbook type 1 page lol... (still good to skim / bookmark / re-process by developers if they want)

I feel detached from Mastodon sometimes because your need to be a git so it's "to be git or not to be." (and I don't use github for obvious typical moral reasons like "it's not ours"
but also I understand it's like a filter for more interested people, more coder-qualified, code-obsessed people.

I'm still looking for people to polish my suggestions but anyway at least I was organised to put them in 1 post for people to pick and choose:
