@Mek101@mstdn.io imagine being motivated solely by the threat of starvation and houselessness

no wonder everything sucks now, people are only trying to get paid. they don't care about what they're doing.

@RadioAngel A good explanation of what might be labelled as exclusion from society at this post.

sunbeam.city/@RadioAngel/10693

(basically what is effecting most of us with demand for conditional acceptance of very dubious things (or indirectly demanding) the need to accept things before anything, often irresponsibly accepting things (without much basis other than someone said so)

NOTE 1
This post is just for those that need labels as a hint, not to stick it to 'a label' only)

NOTE 2
Even writing it as a label seems to disassociate the reality - so now I remember the feeling saying the terminology to family and it sounding like it's a something external / distance kinda real but someone possibly inflating it / taking it too hard / even conspiracy theory type opinion, so the original writing at the top seems to be better at explaining it and mentioning the label (unless your audience already knows the concept and for sure would actual help to shorten it, where for most people it's going too far in doing so and needs explaining as was said by click in this post or seeing he pasted version below )

"It was too early for the family pep talk of... 'you're not useless, you're depressed. Get a mind like water...' I tried to tell them that a mind like water doesn't help if you are in a swimming pool. They didn't get it. So, I'm going to explain it here.

You can be a positive person and it might get you somewhere in life. But if there is any type of structural concept that rules society that say's you're out. You are against everyone in trying to move forward. I'm not saying don't keep fighting. I'm saying recognize that it isn't you that is broken. If you feel depressed it's for a reason. You can be a happy person and not have opportunity. You can be a depressed person and not have opportunity. The point here is to realize it just might not be you that's the problem but the walls society built to keep you out. Once you recognize those walls, there's only one thing to do. Tear them down.

The walls are institutional & hierarchical. "

Could mix the two just to see how it tastes! :)

@gemlog :) "Well. It seems like distributing $80 tablets to play mahjong would be a lot cheaper than buying $79,000 robots." :)

@rastinza
Reason I asked was that there is a 'subscribe' often next to the name in the timeline format - this probably doesn't help for your wish (which is about not seeing people's retoots / boosts in your feeds or notifications)

@leo YEAH (AGREE) BUT APART FROM APPLES MOST THINGS BECOME QUITE PROBLEMATIC AS THEY ARE NOT SO ABUNDANT.

I think you mention abundant in the first line as a collective thought, but on it's own is hard to understand (you could add 'to fight create abundant by contributing collectively)

And then you have the legality of such things if in place more permanently borderline ILLEGAL / AVOIDS BEING TAXES (the main part of government is for this!)

AND falls into the 'you can't do it that way' de-facto for many other 'health and safety reasons)

Apples and nuts are by far the most plentiful and perfect thing for giving / receiving but giving massages or other things means you might soon find problems
(socio-related / bad neighbours etc so this is also going to need to be solved)

I've found Apples practically grow themselves (pumpkins, cherries, hazelnuts etc also) and is easy to see / transfer but services perhaps a further challenge

SO I'M CONFUSED BECAUSE IN MANY CASES THE MORE PERMANENT SOLUTION OR LONGER DISTANCES SIMPLY MEAN IT'S NOT WORTH TRAVELING MUCH FOR.
And a small community needs to be quite tight like few hundred max otherwise you get bitching which needs to be solved as gets it's own momentum.

Nice idea though.
A website I thought of showing people giving for free could be these kinds of websites (pardon any ads / put blockers on)
nevyhazujto.cz/
freecycle.org/
or simple mailing list.

So I like the idea just with less abundant material it's hard ( apples are BY FAR the best I know)

And then distances / time to give this is the main challenge (sociology-economic / time stuff) - you might have to spend more time doing this than your job and I guess this is also part of the problem that people do things for money... and that is even going up and up (meaning less and less we care apples and more about money/paying rent/ now electricity is crazy 300% up maybe 500% / 1000% up soon -)

So do try... but do watch out for these bumps in road as many people aren't sympathetic or like others to get free ( it causes attention and many wrong types of people you can't change)

So unless you literally can give apples locally to like-minded people not many have time or even want to make time (example I know in village people don't even pick their own apple but 'only the best one' like ungrateful people but they are really just aesthetically fascist or like perfection or just prefer to put them all in compost and not cut all the half good apples - this is what I saw to this day now! ) -

I can also agree apples work 100% with right person but something more than that I think will be tested in others ways sociologically / pathologically in people wanting to pay for things or expecting perfection...

Apples given hand to hand without paperwork or online attention ok... the other stuff I don't know unless really small AND like-minded community.

Remember anything that works or can cause attention (including saving money) and there will be attention by authority on it OR people will shit on it themselves because human nature of seeing people get 'for free' is stronger than the will of those to defend other people who practice it
(nobody wants a fight)

MY TIP ABOUT SAYING 'ABUNDANCE'
I would have continued the 1st sentence as abundance doesn't exist (in a lot of ways) but if you said abundance from everyone contributing what they have extra (people will just dismiss abundance on it's own like 'sustainable' things if there is not context showing all of us giving = abundance)

I might edit this - had to send to not lose it

@rastinza
Just checking: Do you mean subscribe as in RSS or 'Follow'
(or something else)?

@SIDMusic
Ok this worth commenting on - do you have a link to screenshots or anything? (this was just the menu)

Mainly wanted to say this sounded way different to others or just had bassy effect at the same time as the usual. Wonder why it wasn't like that more often? I guess I haven't listen to them all but seemed more unique / unorthodox.

VIDEO OF PFIZER CONTRACTS GIVEN TO EU THAT MUCH IS BLACKED OUT / CENSORED

TRAGEDY COMES FROM NON-TRANSPARENCY & SECRETS OF COMMERCE AND IT'S CONTRACTS

OUR HEALTH RELYING ON THESE BLACKED OUT CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS IS A JOKE
- have a look for 10seconds

The whole video is good, this part made me laugh out loud and then choke on the cucumber I was eating as it's absolutely probably the truth they wouldn't ever give the truth or anything possible for people to investigate regarding their own health.

@GustavinoBevilacqua
That's useful - I see something similar through the GUI in the redirect or 'Switch Invidious Instance' link on every video page
(example below)

@GustavinoBevilacqua
lol funny video and nice it was short and funny
and yes probably views are not counted though I could assume the counter is not always 100% responsive

Interesting Comments from video:

- This is the best press conference I have ever seen in my 58 years . I'm almost in tears to know that justice is going too come !

- You know they have something to hide when they don't show up!

- It’s great and rare to hear such words of truth and reality from elected officials. Thank You All.

@nathaniel Can you say more about this?

Specifically was interesting
"I have done the things in life that I've done in spite of my upbringing not because of it."... which lead me to ask myself: "is it possible to do things in life despite the upbringing" <--while still assuming we would do different things anyway in all of the possible cases BUT perhaps we choose to work on main things from what we see lacking in life or have some response even if it's like "fuck not following my parents in that I'm going for something totally new / different" etc... Seems hard not to do things from living life :)

But yeah anything on that welcome. Thanks

@GustavinoBevilacqua YES 'play and forget' autoplay is also a good one.

Are you 100% sure Invidious video filter doesn't increase count?
(I was wondering about that)

Also I'm not sure what you mean by the last paragraph- can you say more in other words? thanks

@derek Q. BOOK FOR COMMUNITY ORGANISING?

*Specifically* How to pursue climate action at a local level?

I encourage my followers to see this and reply.

I don't have a book to suggest right now (but it's a good question and I'm sure I might dig something later) but I can suggest talking more to people regularly at a VERY good way for everything and integrating that into people around you AND the like-minded stranger from time to time (welcome to try me) as a way of spiraling more people and interest while genuinely upping the levels across the board.

Talking more helps organically learn and practice in the audible sense of conversation (video not needed) on these topics many people are not able to do with others... and actually people cover a lot more in a short space of time and really *feel* it too... which is all important for all the 'members' (members of humanity, family, community etc).

*Almost* everything can be built and done this way (with books too along the way) and even should be because allowing and *making space* for people to talk IS possibly the #1 thing in all this modern day stuff and rebuilding / starting community almost from scratch.

I see why things breakdown and this is a huge part of everything if not #1 as 'talking about it' or 'communication' - so in the end happier methods or happier people can stick around longer (even in the bad situations) and not just run on positives or hype (usually at the beginning)

Rather than project after project going down from mainly 1 person or problem this method harmonizes people *first* to make for more experienced people and less narrow-minded.

Maybe I'm 'extreme' as a reflection of the modern 'hi and bye' methods (ignoring most of life actually) but this way of continuing to talk regularly is priceless... possibly #1 key to enabling people. People also hold books and knowledge in themselves so this allows sharing a lot more incrementally as people are a kind of interface-for-books themselves and without having to ask everyone to always read.

Happy to talk more about this isn't excluding other ways - justa strong main way at the same time everything else (reading books etc + Mastodon social + learning elsewhere at the same time).
I'm not anti-book :) 📚
At the same time I do value people a bit more than book (so still both very highly valued).
