I help people create audio / edit educational audio / podcast / music / visual short videos / transcript text
+ I like to add a bit humour while being quite strict in my own politics (opinions) but open / inviting for others to tell me what I should do if they can explain more than just a short comment (I don't mind it's healthy for me at least if you have logic and can stand yourself explaining).
FreeSchool is about Learning towards Freedom (which is about Uniting everyone slowly, even "1 by 1"... Easy with The Fediverse!
Not virtue signalling here only, but practise of EVERYTHING as we go. Judged by getting in contact (many have) and having courage to communicate (or seeking it from others is ok, EVERYONE needs a bit of courage or hand-holding to make big personal changes). Who else is there for example if family doesn't understand?
Learning and watching can be good and staying out of people's way, BUT better is doing something every day and helping each other with some tough decisions / lessons... and then being bold enough to do them. 1... 2... 3 that is all that's needed.

Zoom alternative (instant free video chat) ----> Trom (using Jitsi Meet) for Quick Chats / Meetings / Screen-share etc...
Jitsi Meet is a Zoom alternative that anyone can use without paid account for audio / video calls.
The example above runs the same software on website as "TROM Call". You can also setup you own using the same software.
A password and username is set to "tromcall" (it asks for login once you're in call) and makes a unique call every time so different people can use the same service in unique sessions and own links to calls.
Try really free instant Audio / Video / Text Chat etc!
Many good things about this kind of Jitsi Meet software:
●No install, No account. Instant.
Any Browser almost... App is small, thin footprint.
●Open Source
Other things:
- Zoom is maybe routing through China servers and therefore Chinese laws (snooping)
- Faster / simpler / less clutter
- No install / Most browsers
- No account / Instant.
- Similar technology to Zoom in Jitsi Meet but safer/more private/less corporate
Zoom maybe still uses China webspace occasionally which = China Internet Security Laws ...
....Anyway not saying your usual American app is good either but this less-for-profit helps and it's open code etc / not mining your data and calls! :)

So while I wouldn't want a world ignoring things, I did think the 'good' people are also promoting it and inadvertently spreading the progress of others and advertising fear almost.

@hakologist If the idea can stick around then it can be worth it, so the body can go but spirit of things remaining is ideal, and since more bodies come you could say keeping the spirit of things is more important than constant disappearing of bodies especially after if giving a great idea to the world or just your sincere efforts.

@jerry The length of people writing can allow people to think what is say is not positive, so I'm just saying I'm being positive on top of the existing...
but there is a lacking for doing more between "us" on various levels.
So for example (again without being attacking)
Not just "if you don't want to donate it's ok" and end of donating theme.
but more towards
"Wow what else can we offer you to give us"
"How can this guy promote us so we don't just stop the energy at money or nothing"
"Can we continue the thread in other things that circle everything we're all about" (because that solves everything including needing so much money)
📔 And just as an example so it's not virtue signalling or utopia: I got full webspace for 10/11years just by asking / having a wishlist that others could work on rather than asking / working myself for money and then paying for cold commercial webspace and person to manage it. (it was more green space at the same time too so unknowingly as the crowd or fans gets the circles a lot more tighter).
@freemo @bonifartius For now yes I think up it on qoto it's easiest / quick to change and then the nextcloud stuff later as it is a bit of a faff and anyway goes to same storage space anyway.
I'll post actual audio media separately under a public post to saying there is a new podcast (audio will not in same message but add after as 'unlisted' to solve that the audio is not federated / copied everywhere).
It means I can do things now and later consider Nextcloud etc which maybe in the end is quite similar (and increasingly apps or sites are not allowing old phones including open source things so yes just for now I would want to keep it simple only needing Mastodon my end which works everywhere.
Again upping the limit on qoto only as test and speed to release a few things for you / us to see how it turns out as an idea rather than way for you to consider Nextcloud and see if it works my end too with old browsers etc I use.

I already use 32kbs or 64kbps for podcast audio (for which Opus is more adapted and smaller for voice) but perhaps not so much difference dealing at Megabyte levels of difference. Will always think more about this.
I know for sure .Ogg / Opus isn't as editable (will need to change my tools) and not as playable everywhere as mp3 but yeah now is a better time than any to promote it 11years since it's making.
Saw Android 5 mobiles play opus naturally with app.
As I recycle old mobiles I remember my mobile didn't play Opus / Vorbis (in the past) but with an app did / or I converted it to be able to edit on a mobile.
Apps today increasingly need high Android versions for basic tasks (even when they don't really need high version mobiles) so if there are low Android apps versions around 2/3/4 to record / edit opus then I'd really to know and keep old mobiles ok.
❓ Actually was looking for a an app site which can search by Android version to get those low requirement apps and not have to constantly open and close pages saying they need yesterday's high Android versions.
I am happy to see this open format more in effect and might have to change things.
I have existing podcast material in mp3 so I'll roll with that for while but not stop thinking about Opus.

It's like the holy grail of solutions (and yes do passwords accordingly).
When we are off Google and M$, then alignment from the very beginnings of internet usage itself (you're whole life, password, root keys) are then aligned to info sec type stuff. Pardon me if I'm wrong. Passwords almost seem extra beyond certain use cases and effort. Solving both is good, I'd move emails sooner than tripling security on passwords.

So this is not ungrateful rant but providers should know it takes feelings and education to give to many things or some personality... just more than the distance currently like loading another software on.
And money is tight for everyone A) in the mental sense of releasing it while it's debt based, AND
B) from the point of view of maximising every penny we have letting richer people pay somewhat or economising as a goal for all tech.
Maybe I said too much and it will confuse you but really underlying is the relativity which many (I) don't feel (I don't have money but have time but that isn't appreciates but 'll get on to that after), so towards releasing things is more personal and actually keeping it going without a standard donations template... takes work (text and audio, video something by users).
AND FINALLY - still it's not easy to give more anonymously or universally accessible i.e Banking is only easier by bank transfer locally but paying abroad or adding U$A + verified paypal = fees - all is just crazy (almost stupid)... Yeah monero as best thing cutting from all the bad down to crypto but still not perfect for everyone.
AND REALLY FINALLY - using people's TIME ⏲️ is the key 🔑 for me using people's keyboards (user content, merging my own work, fan work).
and finding their skill (my time, skill) however low that is to get them to work for you/them/us almost like working for ourselves
ELSE we never get out of bad loops of which there are many...

Our TROM Call now requires a username and password in order to create a call. This is stated on the main trom.tf website. The password and username are "tromcall" and it will create a unique call session every time. Therefore it can be used by anyone.
Now it should be a lot more reliable than before.

All becoming refugees on some level or many levels... (I empathise)...
@maggiejk @Jedigirl Without reducing what you said (which I empathise with) we're all refugees under current pyramid-scheme-capitalism formation. It does need some reducing or elimination of ignorance from payers to stop paying people from taking their money and constantly using for stupid stuff.
They made the whole game of life based on pointless debt and supplying them only for us to live.
So it's almost like eliminating that stuff is eliminating the extensions of that attachment (us more-moral people)
And debt as money only devalues and makes people work harder...
Not a great game but almost "now you know why" which took me ages to realise. It's a growth from a cancer or debt environment we're in and that's hard to beat or even get willpower from people to face each other together while looking out only for themselves less and less.

✅ You just accept a pitch that sounds good (a post you've already read from users like mine who are trying without any attention) and back a few select people as a confirmed QOTO test so it's way to funnel a few people from using your popularity to them (mostly for QOTO but those who still are unconfident).

Your backing and encouragement helps us (or just 2 users) to test it in more of reality and purpose to realise what is - and accept if it's just a pipe dream or in reality in the long run proven (so by the time you have more time it's clearer and you don't have to start this process later).
It can prove what works done by ourselves (and also ok if it's not) I that's the main thing.
