@Sadderp @JimmyB @RichardJMurphy What in particular about GP monetary policy do you think needs changing.

"Thinking small may get Labour into No 10. It could also stop it from staying there"

If Tory rule is so damaging, why does Labour offer so little to reverse the damage? Maybe the Tories aren't so bad after all, and better the devil you know, etc., etc.

I can see such logic playing on the minds of many undecided voters in the coming general election.

In its later years, the Blair government was a statist, securocratic mess, but at least it started out with good intentions and actions. With no vavavoom to begin with, a Starmer administration is fated to fizzle out rapidly in political heat death.

"My advice to you is that you never disclose that you were on this jury."

Judge Lewis Kaplan
to the jurors in Trump defamation trial

You could practice a lifetime as an attorney and never hear a judge ever say anything like this. This is where the Republican party has brought us, America.

"New Brexit rules and EU vet shortage put meat imports at risk"

The solution to this problem is for the UK to abandon its own phytosanitary system, replicate EU rules in total, and hope that, 5-10 years down the line, the EU signs an agreement which removes the need for border checks.

Simples.

Make Brexit work (just as that nice Sir Keir says he will). Oh yes.

A question for those conversant with the laws and customs of Englandandwales...

Is it permissible to go for a walk on one's own without a dog?

I ask, as I've been receiving the looks that middle-class Germans reserve for folk who put their washing out on a Sunday.
