Yesterday I caught the end of a BBC Radio interview with a French farmer, who said that, until now, only the Green parties of Europe had paid this matter any attention.
But of course, current political reporting focuses on far-right exploitation of farmers' grievances. There seems to be little news value in constructive, evidence-based criticism of our farming industry and need for a complete overhaul of the Common Agricultural Policy.
