He asked for any reason, I gave 4, you consider invalid 1/5 of one of them, so I'm glad to have been useful.

I really liked Musk a lot when he started Tesla. But he started to go wrong quickly, and I changed my opinion. Only after that criticism started. Truth is the more facts I know about the man, the shadier he looks like.

About political bias, well, you don't need to have a political leaning to love watching the sky at night, people respecting laws, or hating cryptos, do you?

@101101000
None of above. The complete list would be real long; no sense to even trying.
So I will throw some of the most obvious:
- The unabashedly mistreat, random firing and exploitation of workers, ignoring work regulations and sabotaging unions.
- The savage systematic sabotaging of environment, astronomy and night sky through Starlink operations.
- He has been promoting cryptos through Twitter only to scam his followers.
- He has been accussed of sexual harassment.
On the other hand, what have Musk ever done that can make the world a better place and hasn't make him even more wildly rich?

Molly White bravely presented her talk, [Is Web3 bullshit?](youtube.com/watch?v=AGsllEF7w_), at Web Summit 2022 in front of a crowd with what are likely many people deeply invested in Web3. She calls out the ubiquity of vaporware, the numerous grifts, and the entrenchment power behind the rhetoric while acknowledging the importance of the lofty goals which should inspire technologists.

Yeah, they should follow Amazon cue, use an AOSP fork, their own shop, and call it Twitter Fire. Can't fail!

@jecxjo
I still have a Samsung tablet from 2014, 450€. Still works nicely. Wifi is not as fast as modern ones, but is not slower than it was. Main trouble is many apps can't be installed or updated anymore, but it's not a phone, so it is not so much trouble. Worrisome to hear more recent models are such kind of garbage. I will have to replace it eventually, hate to think I'm going to have to endure such trouble. Have you tried to reset it to factory settings? It revived mine 5 years ago. Disable all you don't really use and go slow installing things, works miracles. Avoid as much as possible any app that requires the run in background permission; they can make your device performance terrible even if you never use them.

It’s #FollowFriday so I hope folks utilize the hashtag to find my account here!
Give me a boost! Maybe if I can show some of the big accounts on Twitter that it’s possible to grow sizably and quickly here, too, they’ll migrate over!

Now that the looming demise of the birdsite has motivated me into making an actual effort at posting: here's Part One of some older #content

Parts 2-4 continue in the replies.

Why would the richest man in the world buy the tallest, biggest soapbox?

Me parece terrible que aún tengáis que soportar estas mierdas. Nunca me acabará de entrar en la cabeza que "la otra mitad" tenga que andar así. Un abrazo solidario.

@marathon0 I agree. The situation is so chaotic that only time will tell.

@marathon0 In this kind of situation, the ones that stay are usually the low performers. High performers are usually the ones that end up earning even more out of the company. Low performers are the ones more likely of end up unemployed if they leave.

@SaraSoueidan An interesting proposal, but... According to the spec, data attributes are for JS only. On the other hand, we have CSS selectors for them. I think it's good to have options, but I think is best to keep classes for CSS and data for JS as much as it makes sense, in order to keep separation of concerns and be polite to the next poor soul that gets to maintain your code.

Finding a lot of my favorite Twitter people here via one of those tools, and I hope some of them start ...posting.

@themarkup I used to do the same with Twitter. Tried some apps, but it didn't catch. I still haven't bothered with Mastodon apps.
