This is really, really interesting. Open Collective is allowing those who use their platform, and have funding, to be “hired” under their umbrella to enable things like payroll, healthcare, taxes, etc to be handled. It doesn’t help projects that can’t get funding, but those that have ample funding to support maintainers full time now have an option for “employment”.

Wait, we're racing satellites now? No more horse racing? Where do I get in on this action?!

Don't flowers need soil to grow and bloom?

Guess you can say a dirty mind is where healthy ideas bloom.

Some may say a pothead would suffice, but that's omitting the fact that a pot may not have anything in it ;)

@icedquinn

The hardest part of being self-employed is finding something of value to someone else that won't try to sue me to give it for free.

A lack of proportional respect according to your relationship is, in itself- harm to your well-being.

Friends don't treat friends like dirt without mutually understanding the dynamics.

Loyalty to those who harm you, is commitment to your demise.

Anyone who resigns obligations to their perpetuators, are disavowing to their own virtues.

What is Catholic Occultism?
The term “Catholic Occultism,” as used on this website, refers strictly to those spiritual concepts and practices (and foundations for practices) that are found within historic, orthodox Catholicism but are not in view of the average layperson.

What are the Sources of Catholic Occultism?
As one can glean from the book The Magic of Catholicism, the sources of Catholic Occultism are the same as the sources of the Catholic religion: the Bible, the Creeds, the Church Fathers, the Ecumenical Councils, the Writings of Mystics and Saints, the Manuals (seminary textbooks), the Liturgy, Catholic devotions, and Papal Decrees. These sources are read side-by-side with the “scientific paradigm” known and understood by the Medieval Church (four elements, seven planets, twelve signs, herbal and other knowledge available at the time).

I am subatomic quantum physics in an abstract sentient celestial entity governance model setting?

Dang, I must be smart...

@GNUxeava

What I've learned is that the more a project leans on external resources (be it libs, packages, foundries, etc) the more disruptive it becomes when it _eventually_ encounters an issue in workflow.

That being said, I wholeheartedly agree that important projects should try harder to self-host. Critical infrastructure should be independent and self-sustaining. Not a self-perpetuating Jenga tower.
